| yorkie will not stop dirtying on the floor i have a 10 mth old yorkie and i can get her to pee outside no problem but she will not stop pooping on the carpet in the same spot.i tried kenneling her but she barks and whines like someone is beating her and i am at my wits end with her.My fiance is also not impressed and says we will have to get rid of her but I will not allow that to happen i will leave first before i get rid of my little girl, she is good with everything else except if she gets out she runs blindly out into the street and i have to get a stranger to catch her cause she will not come to,I have tried treats and everything.I have also a pitbull/lab cross and had no problems training her at all,i can even walk her off leash, she is such a good girl.I have talked to others that have yorkies and have the same problem with them.I got her from a breeder who allowed the pups to dirty on the floor and i think that is the root of the problem.Someone please give me some advice as to what to do next. |

| I literally keep an eye on my puppy at all times. Once I see him doing his little sniffing and circling I call him over to where I want him to go - on the pee pads. Once he goes on the pee pad I then reward him with a little treat. This may sound funny but I congradulate him "good boy" with a very high pitch voice. If you catch your dog doing it where she is not suppose to - you have to at exactly that time - yell at her - BAD - and make a loud clap sound. You may want to even put her away somewhere as a punishment. But I think yorkies react very well to treats and praise. Its also a matter of habit. If she has been going to the same place every time - this is a habit - and she will go there again - unless you catch her in the act and yell at her. Also, you have to make sure there is no scent left behind - or else - everything you do is for nothing. |
