| son chasing dog My son and husband like to play/chase my 7 mo.old yorkie around the living room. The pup seems to enjoy this also. However, will chasing lead to problems later on ( i.e. not coming when called, etc.)? |

| How old is your son? My first concern would be for one of them to accidentally step or trip over your Yorkie! This would not be a form of exercise I would ever recommend! Taking your Yorkie for a walk would be a much better alternative.

| I agree that the biggest risk of chasing is injury to the dog. My dogs will chase me, but I still have to do the "Yorkie Shuffle" for fear of one of them getting underfoot. If you aren't already, do daily training sessions with your pup for basic commands of sit, stay, and come. Buy a book of dog tricks for your son to teach your pup. |

| I agree this is not a good thing for the safety of your little one and also if he got loose and you went after him he would think it is a game.

| Other way around Dog chases you is ok and a fun game to teach. You chasing them teaches them to run away when you want them to come. JL
