Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Older Dog won't use pads or box Hope someone can help!!! I have a 9 year old yorkie girl and I have a dog door so both yorkies can go out whenever nature calls, but I have the problem that my little girl whenever it rains or is just cold out side she starts going pee and poo in the house. I tried a litter box with dog litter, no luck, now I bought the pee pads with a spray to try and get her to go on that, still no luck...everytime I try and tell her to "go potty" by placing her on the pad she looks at me like I'm crazy, or like she is in trouble... any suggestions? My carpet just can't take anymore accidents. thx!

| Don't give her the run of the house. I know she might be upset that the others will have free run, but it will be better for you and for her in the long run. When she does need to go, forgo letting her go outside and concentrate on the wee wee pads. Place her on the pad first thing in the morning, half hour after meals and water, and before she goes to bed at night. Praise her like crazy when she does her business in the appropriate location. Consistency is the key. Let us know how she "goes." |
