| Kingston never used to bark until... He started playing with my mom's dog Samson. Now he barks and growls at everything that moves! What can I do to: 1.) Get him to stop immediately (other than just clapping loudly and saying "hush!") and 2.) Get him to know it's not ok to do He used to be so friendly and outgoing, and now he's a scaredy cat TIA

| LOL .... They ummm ... found their voice Dogs bark for a lot of reasons alarm aggression fear play and lots of others too as puppies grow and learn new things vocalization and barking is one of the processes they need to learn about too getting a barky dog to stop barking is tough First is to distract them with a loud noise or a yell to stop them immediately this is pretty easy to do but they will likely start in a second or two all over again this is where the hard part comes in esp with vocal dogs like Yorkies you need to get the pup away from the barking stimulus whatever it is that is making him bark you can do this 2 ways first is take them physically away and put them in a different room or you can body block him ... which means you stand between him and whatever is making him bark This is a long process and needs to be repeated again and again in order to change his habits
