| Tell bell? Has anyone tried the tell-bell? I'd like to get one....but can't find any retailers in Canada that sell it. I think it looks like a better product than just hanging bells from a door handle. Just looking for feedback before I commit to ordering it online. Also, if anyone has bought one online (aside from Amazon), can you reccomens a site? thanks!

| Also, can you tell me how you go about training the dog to use it, etc. Thanks.

| Check out this link: http://search.ebay.com/search/search...&fsop=1&fsoo=1 You can find about a bazillion choices for bells and you shouldn't have to spend $25 on a bell just because it's for "dog training". There are plenty of "service" bells out there for much less that will work just fine. As for how to train them to use it, there is alot of info/articles online on this subject. Also, any good dog training book utilizing positive reinforcement methods should cover this topic. |

| When you order the tell bell, it comes with instructions, 2 bells and an instructional dvd. training to use the tell bell is similar to regular bell training....if you search this board, I'm sure I've seen recent postings.

| Unless you want to spend $25 for the instructional dvd that comes with the tell bell, you should do a search on ebay, etc. You can find "service" bells that will ring just fine for much, much less money. There is also a wealth of information available online regarding bell training. I would check around first and see what you can find for free before spending alot of money on the tell bell DVD. You might even be able to find a service counter type bell at your local big-box office supply stores. If you are interested in training your dog more extensively beyond a potty bell, it may be time to invest in a good dog training book that utilizes positive reinforcement methods. Good luck with your search! |

| Thank you Thank you so much everybody who responded. I've spent hours on YT this morning reading all about potty training, tell-bells, etc and have found alot of info and help. It's been 14 years since I've had a puppy (my Yorkies have both passed away) and I am in the process of choosing a new puppy. The litter was just born, so it will be awhile. In the meantime, I want to be an informed mommy. I've been getting things ready making and ordering needed items.
