| WARNING!! Very dangerous toy for dogs! I haven't been able to check emails lately so I didn't get this email from my friend until today. She has 6 Pyranese and was just sick when she got this warning - like me she has the same pimple ball toys for her dogs!! I don't believe our little Yorkies could chew holes in these balls but b/c one can never be sure, I threw ours out immediately after seeing this horror! When you get to this link, scroll down thru the blog to the Aug 14th entry, which explains all about this nightmare and has a picture of the toy. The ones we had for Ginger and ShyAnne were the smallest ones but exactly the same as the bigger ones. I think they come in 3 sizes. We also bought one of the pimple balls that is attached to a rope they can pull. It has the same hole in the ball as the pimple balls alone do! I threw it out, too! My dogs don't chew these but roll them around and play chase with them. Still I just don't want anything to "accidentally" happen to them!!! I will be boycotting Four Paws products. I just can't believe their lack of concern. I went to the Four Paws website and couldn't find anything about recalling these toys. Here is the link to the blog about this: The Chai Story

| I saw this a while ago and sent the email telling them I was boycotting their products, this is the response I got.. HYPERLINK "http://cl.exct.net/?ju=fe5a107576640c79711d&ls=fde715747d620c74761174 7d&m=fef717727c6200&l=fec7177070650274&s=fe3715727 565077d721678&jb=ffcf14&t="fourpaws.com Thank you very much for your email message. Like you, Four Paws is deeply concerned about reports of injuries suffered by some dogs as a result of a manufacturing defect in some of our Pimple Ball toys. We want you to know that we have stopped shipping these toys to our distributors and we have asked them to have retailers immediately remove the toys from their shelves and return them at our expense. We have also stopped all shipments of the toys from the manufacturer, and we are sending Executive Vice President Barry Askin to personally inspect the manufacturer's facility in order to make sure that the defect has been corrected. The ball was designed with two holes to eliminate risk of suction. Unfortunately, in the production of some balls, the smaller second hole became blocked on the inside, thus making it hard to detect the defect with the naked eye. As a result, in addition to repairing the toy molds, we are also changing the packaging of the Pimple Balls. The packaging change will result in a tie that must clear both holes, thus insuring there are always two clear holes in the toy. If you purchased a Four Paws Pimple Ball with Bell toy, please immediately take the toy away from your pet. Instructions to return the toy are posted on our website Four Paws Products – The Home of Quality Pet Products. Thank you again for your message and your concern. Please be assured that the safety and well being of pets is our top priority and we are doing everything we can to make sure that this problem is solved as quickly as possible. | Thank you for the warning, Barbara, and Dejavu - Chizziewink and I appreciate the information about the ball. I used to puchase a pimple ball from Wal-Mart and I remember a hole in both ends and the was only one hole -- after reading the warnings that were posted previously, I sadly took the ball away. Just a thought - if anyone is desperate for this type of ball - you could always cut a hole in the bottom. |

| Thankyou very much, DejaVu!!! Would it be OK for me to copy/paste the email you got from Four Paws to an online social community I belong to? Or, at least, some of it in part? I posted a thread there in a group I belong to for pets, telling them this same warning. I am sure there are a few in that group who would appreciate hearing what Four Paws had to say to you. chattiesmom: To quote you: "Just a thought - if anyone is desperate for this type of ball - you could always cut a hole in the bottom." How right you are!!!

| sorry i wasnt clear, it says i am not suppose to at the bottom of the email, but I dont mind. Spread the word. It sounds like they pulled the product though, so now its up to the distributing stores to pull it off the shelves. Last edited by DejaVu; 09-14-2008 at 06:23 PM. |

| That is just awful! I hope the company will be paying for the vet costs and extracare needs of the dogs that were needlessly injured. |

I Love My Babies Donating Member | I watched both videos that were on this message. I am in tears thinking of what these sweet babies have gone through. I sent an e-mail to the company. Thank you so much for letting us know how dangerous this product can be to our babies.
