| More than city bylaw allows? Does anyone have more dogs than their city bylaw allows? Okay you don't have to answer but how do you get around it? Our city bylaw says the limit is 2 dogs per residence. I have 2 others now but I so WANT a Yorkie!!!! |

I Love Thor Donating Member | Probably, if you.they don't cause any disturbance, no one will ever know. If you stay low key...Do you live alone? Maybe you can get a dog for your 'son'!! |

The bylaw here says limit of 2 per residence - not 2 per person - which would be more suitable for us. We are very low-key people but do talk with the next door neighbours when they see us with our dogs in the front yard.

So in a nut shell, I would do it. They bylaw is probably more to 'get their backs' if there is an animal abuse case, etc.....and for a loving and responsible pet owner with well kept pets, I bet you could get away with it. But thats just my opinion, and I might possible be the first to break a silly rule like that. You will figure out what's best for you!

| Keep them in the house. If you take them out for a walk, take them to a park. Don't license any more than the two allowed.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I don't know what ours is and I don't want to find out. I know when we get rabies the vet sends the info to the county. I have 4 and I am guessing 2-3 is the limit.

| our county only allows 3 dogs... we have 4. all 4 of them are registered with the county. theyve never had any problem with it or anything. i think it nly becomes a big deal if your causing a disturbance or it becomes unsafe or unhealthy for you or your pets.

| Our county permits 3 dogs as well, but at one time we did have 4 when we moved to CA. without realizing only 3 were permitted, but I wasn't about to give one up and nothing was ever done or said about it. I personally know one household that has 6 dogs and another with 8. Everyone takes excellent care of their dogs and they are never creating any disturbances. These families moved here from outside the city limits and don't want to give up any of their dogs. I would advise not getting more dogs than your allowed though. I have three now, and it's my limit and I'm fine with it. |
