can anybody refer me to a good yorkie breeder near san francisco? I got my yorkie up at Galt City which was maybe an hour drive. The woman let me have my yorkie for $600, (she said it was crazy for people to purchase dogs for more than thousand, which I wouldn't agree with more) and I can't seem to find anything around the same price. Anybody?

I am in a similar situation - looking for the healthiest, well socialized and beautiful puppy I can find. I've narrowed it down to three breeders, they are asking $2,500, $1,800 and $1,500. All for boys and the sizes will range from about 7lbs down to about 4.5. None of the breeders are here in the city though so to look at two of them I am planning to fly down to LA and rent a car to check out the homes in which my puppy has been raised and talk to the breeders and (so long as things go well) pick up my new friend. I think it will be expensive but there just arent a ton of great breeders locally that I know of. Well, hope sharing my experience helps!

Yeah, same there. Looking for a breeder in SF. I know there should be some around the East Bay, but I cannot think of the name right now. Also if you ask around people from the SF YORKIE MEETUP, they might know.

Thanks Alma! Im wondering what size yorkies are out there? I cant decide between a pup that will become a 7 lbs dog or a 4.5 lbs dog. Smaller seems good because you can take your little friend anywhere (my cousin takes his 5 lbs yorkie everywhere) but larger is good too because the pup can play vigorously with people and other dogs (my girlfriend's 7 lbs yorkie is a gregarious powerhouse.) Thanks for letting me know!

Emerald Acres Yorkshire Terriers in California- HEY! Have you guys checked out Emerald Acres Yorkshire Terriers?? The breeders name is Patricia Green and she's further north than LA for those of you that live in San Fran. When I was living in Monterey the drive wasn't so bad. To be honest, the worst part about where she is is that it's kinda out in the middle of no where! But she had her son meet me at a certain point w/ my little boy Isaac. I had already been to her place once or twice before and if I didn't have to do it again, that was perfect! Here's her website: http://www.emeraldsgoldens.com/ Hope this helps some. And if she doesn't have what you're looking for right now, she should know who does.
