I am in a similar situation - looking for the healthiest, well socialized and beautiful puppy I can find. I've narrowed it down to three breeders, they are asking $2,500, $1,800 and $1,500. All for boys and the sizes will range from about 7lbs down to about 4.5. None of the breeders are here in the city though so to look at two of them I am planning to fly down to LA and rent a car to check out the homes in which my puppy has been raised and talk to the breeders and (so long as things go well) pick up my new friend. I think it will be expensive but there just arent a ton of great breeders locally that I know of. Well, hope sharing my experience helps!
