I noticed My Minnie coming into heat July 3-4 and my male Mickey tried to get her a few times thro those next two weeks. And she was waving.I took a swab and there was pinkish blood, shes a light bleeder anyways. Now here it is September and last night and today My little boy is very interested in her again, he keeps trying to ride her and she is swollen again and once again theres a light color maybe blood. She must be having a split heat. She was also very sick at her tummy a few days ago.and now hes smelling every where she sits. and his little mouth starts to quiver.
My question is if this is a split heat would she of been fertile in July or this time allmost two months later.
And has any one had a female get pregnant with a split heat?

I've not experienced a split heat but from what I've heard it doesn't ususally happen over such a long period of time. That being said the female is fertile in the second half of the split heat. The theory is that in the wild canines split heat as a kind of notice that the bitch will be going into heat so that the males can come around and be ready. Just watch her, if she flags again and the male wants to mate than she's fertile.

I've had one with split heats. It can be a month or so between "heats". Mine went 3 months, drove my stud crazy. The second period is the fertile time. In my experience, it's usually right away or day or so. All of a sudden she's very swollen, he's interested and she's fertile.

She has had a split heat a few times before. I knew the first time because I took her in to have her checked at the vets, he did a swab and said she was in heat, Then 3 months later she came in heat again and so I took her back to the vets, Because I had never heard of split heats before that and he had told me yes shes in heat again, and did a swab on her again. So shes done it a few time.
Mickey had had surgery months before the heat in July so I tried to keep them aprat. But this time I was not thinking about her split heat and when I noticed he was on her. They didnt tie, but while out side for potty he got her again today and they was tied for just a sec. So Ill mark the calender just in case. as soon as I saw them together I aproched them. but he was allready climbing off and turned.But when Minnie saw me coming over to them ( I was going to hold them so she wouldnt run and hurt the male) But she moved and they came apart. so I dont know if thats concidered a tie or not. I had an offer from Mickeys breeder to breed one of her Ch males with Minnie if I wanted too, Mickey has Ch in his background too. But the breeder didnt know if he would be able to DTD sense he had had surgery. But I had told her at one time I wanted to use Mickey if I breed them, but then had decided to prob just get them both fixed. So now Im here not knowing if the tie worked , so Ill just give it time and wait.
Minnie is a little over 5 lbs and Mickey is 4 lbs They both just turned 3 years old.

Well today is Sep 7 and Mickey cried all night and paced the floors hes wanting Minnie bad and one minute shes growling at him and the next shes waving. as I mintioned above he did get her on Sep 2 and then things settled down until last night. with the split heat thing its just got me all confused on what days what.

Ok So this would be day34 from Sep 2nd when My two tied. But they only tied for a few sec.

Here is pictures of her tummy my hubby thinks she may be prego's , Im thinking shes not.

What do you all think?

Wait till the end of her 5th week

Yes it is still , and it even looks bigger now then it did when she was in heat. Mickeys still sniffing her alotand trying to lick her . started doing that a few days ago. This is my first female with split heats so she has me all confused.
