| My yorkie is Jealous... Hi, Can anyone tell me if my older yorkie ( 2 1/2 years) will stop being jealous of the new puppy, he steals her food & treats and ignores her when she is trying to play with him. I have had her 2 days, Am I going to have to sell her? |

| I've had zoe for a couple of months now and my 10 year old collie is not happy with her at all. She tolerates her but guards her own food dish now - prior to this she has always been a picky eater and has been underweight. I had tried everything to get her to put on weight and then we got Zoe. She's probably put on 5-10 lbs. I just try to correct her when she growls and remember to be fair to her when the pup is being annoying as puppys can be. Also, I try to walk with them together every night. I swear that helps. I did have a trainer here the other day and he said that when getting a new puppy, you should board the older dog for 10 days and that will give the puppy a chance to bond with you but that suggestion came too late for me. I think things will work out, just be patient and firm with them. Good luck! Theresa |

| Whenever I got a new dog most of the other dogs accepted them just fine but I have a couple that didnt want anything to do with them. It was like they were mad at me for not consulting with them first. I swear they are like little humans so much at times. It took Callie months to warms up to the new dogs each time. SHe is the alpha dog of the house and didnt like them a bit. She didnt fight with them but would growl at them if they even came close or looked at her, and would turn her back to htem and ignore them the rest of the time. Now she is their best friend and thinks she is the mom to everyone. She has to keep all the faces clean and guards over all of them like they are her own. I think in time they will be the best of friends. You just have to remember to show your other dog as much attention. Always pet it first, feed it first and so on. Let it know it is still # one in your eyes. |

| When we brought Davie home, Harley was about 10 months and he was a little jealous also. We watched them closely for about a month, but Harley came around and saw that we still loved him just as much and that Davie was a positive addition. When we added Lexie, we didn't have any problems of jealousy. In the past year, as the girls are getting older, we are having growling during the times they are in heat. We just separate during that time and when they are done, all is fine again. Give your babies time, they will become friends soon.

| My "Miley" has become jelaous of my other girl "baby" if any of us in the family pets baby , she will constantly keep barking at her for as long as someone is with her. Now since baby become preg I have them apart to avoid stress. They were fine before ....I started noticing the problem right away after baby tie with my boy as if Miley sense baby's pregnancy right away or something , they had a little fight going on ..and I just didn't want to wait for another one ; I will see what happens in the future , if they ever make friends again. |

| I forgot to mention that in my case I'm talking about 2 females which usually is a normal thing , but I won't give up on this 2 ....I will try to find a solution to make them friens again. In your case your talking about an older male and a puppy female .... I think is just a matter of time here , I believe they will be best friend soon, just take in mind that puppies are full of energy and can be annoying to older dogs that want to lay down and rest sometimes. I will my older dog the time and space he had before the puppy came and just add the puppy to playtime sessions to allow them to make friends little by little. Good luck! |

| glad to see that they work it out! My older yorkie is very jealous of our newer girl. We've had Alexis a little over a week and Nomi still isn't liking her. She just acts like she doesn't exist! Our 5 year old lab/chow hasn't had a problem with Alexis. They have become buddies really quickly. But he is a male. Maybe it's a female thing? |

| I'm confused. Aren't you the person who was selling the yorkie sisters not long ago because you had to move? Why did you get a new puppy? Did you sell the two little girls that you listed?
