Default Anybody has the same breeder?

Hi

I bouhgt me little girls from Petland and I had very good experience in there. First we were actually looking for labradors or goldenretriewers. They had match for both. I liked both, but my older doq, a Lhatese, didn't like at all. That was the first time she ever crowled to somebody. Then next week they had a nice Yorkie and my old dog waged the tail and accepted her. We were sold. My little Yourkie is getting better and better every day. She is good with the people, kids and other dogs. Looks like she don't have the Napoleon syndrom like some other in the breed. Breeder is Dawn Coffman and no bad words. Thank You.

I am really glad you found a pup that is perfect for you. Please dont ever buy from a pet store again. They gettheir pups from puppy mills and the mom and pups live in deplorable conditions and alot of times the pups have health problems. Google puppymills and you will see pictures and hear stories. I know you didnt know any better Im just trying to inform you

This greeder is a well known Unethical Puppymiller, the worst of the worst, she sells her pups to a Broker LAMBRIAR, INC. that was recently shut down...she now sells to another broker (I will get the name for you, its not in my notes) Just FYI. I would be sure to let your vet know that your pup is indeed a puppymill dog.

Congratulations on your new puppy! It's great that she gets a long well with your older dog. My older dog just tolerates my Yorkies I was trying to figure out if you purchased your puppy at a pet shop, or were asking about the breeder. But I did a quick Google search & figured it out. Apparently, Dawn Coffman supplies various pet shops with various breeds of dogs. I'm not sure if this is the same Dawn Coffman that your pup originally came from. But the Dawn Coffman I found supplies to Petland in Dunwoody. So if this is the same Dawn Coffman, it's pretty certain that your pup came from a puppy mill. If you haven't taken your new pup to the vet yet, I would try to schedule an appointment as soon as you can. With all of the tragedy that goes on inside of those mills, it's likely that your pup may have some health problems. A lot of times, those problems need immediate attention. And if your pup has anything contagious, your older dog could become sick. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this isn't the case. But if you do find out that your new puppy is sick, you've definitely come to right place. There's a lot of information & support on Yorkie Talk for issues like this. Good luck!

I forgot to post the link where I found that information. It's from petshoppuppies.com. Here's the page showing the details about Dawn Coffman: http://www.petshoppuppies.com/report.asp?ID=71A0800

Mark and Dawn Coffman are the owners of the Puppymill known as MISTY TRAIL KENNELS and have had several reports over the years of sick dogs with various ailments including parvo.

They have been on the radar for sometime.

Hi about a year ago i had purchased a morkie from a "high end" chicago puppy store, under the impression my little guy was so expensive because he came straight from a breeder (not wanting to support puppy mills), Im now realizing how wrong i may have been. Already suffering from only having one testical descend, as well as minor eye problems when i first took him home. He is from the breeder Dawn Coffman also, and i was presented a united all breed registry form (stupidly thinking this was some sort of stamp of good faith) I am now wondering which broker she is currently working with, because after reviewing her last broker im sickened!.... but what exaclty does a broker mean, is my dog for sure a puppy mill dog, and is dawn a puppy mill or does she send her puppies off to a puppy mill?? ....hoping to get a better understanding for sake of being up to date with what his medical history may be .... THank you!

A puppy broker is someone who buys dogs from breeders and resells them. Since a good breeder would never sell to a third party, you can be sure that dogs sold through brokers come from puppy mills. Brokers buy from lots of different breeders and sell on websites and through pet stores. It doesn't matter who she is working with, she is the one with the kennel and she's the one breeding the dogs and is responsible for the offspring. I always tell people to go visit the breeder in person because dogs living in puppy mills suffer horribly and are bred to death. They don't get proper vet care during pregnancy and it's not unusual to have health problems with the pups. One or two health problem are so expensive, that you could have bought a healthy dog from a great breeder and saved lots of money.

For those of you who are new to the world of puppy mills, watch some videos and see for yourself why you should go to the breeder's home and visit in person.

To the OP, here's one complaint on the Ripoff Report.

Puppy Sold with Fraudelent Pedigree and Forged AKC Registration

AUTHOR: Barbara - (U.S.A.)

SUBMITTED: Monday, March 26, 2007

I purchased a Havanese from Lee, Louis Anthony, and Justin Cabezas. My puppy just reached the 1 year mark and I today 3/26/07 had his OFA Certification done. I paid for full registration rights to this male havanese and have recently found out that my name was forged on the AKC Registration papers. I never got the application to register the dog and the breeder listed on the AKC registration is Dawn Coffman. The two sites I bookmarked when purchasing my dog now comes up as JENN'S Havanese located in Texas and the second bookmarked site comes up as Krystal selling pugeranians. Her web site listed is much-adopoo. Be careful buying public. My suggestion is visit the facility, check out your pet and don't go by comments posted on the sellers website as referrals.

I really hope your pup is healthy, but next time you are in the market, check out the breeder before you buy the pup, not after.

I would highly recommend staying away from pet stores or 3rd party sellers from now on, as well as those who advertise "designer hybrid breeds" such as the morkie, or the yorkipoo, etc.,

I would also highly suggest looking into pet insurance...it could save you a lot of money in the future if your pup ends up having health issues. Make sure to read the Terms and Conditions and small print closely, and also make sure if that they cover genetic conditions.

Angry Dawn Coffman

I bought a Pomeranian puppy from a fancy tea cup puppies boutique in Fort Lauderdale FL. I thought my puppy was from a reputable breeder since it cost so much. Then I looked online for the breeder and saw these forum. The breeder of my pomeranian is Dawn Coffman. I looked online and found out that it was from a puppy mill called Misty Trail Kennels located in Arkansas, the exact address is 176 Misty Trail, Pocahontas, AR 72455, EE. UU. And this is the phone number I found (870) 647-3433.
I did not know I was buying a puppy from a puppy mill.

Did you buy the pup locally or did you buy the pup online? I see your info says you are in Mexico, or did you recently relocate to FL? If you bought in person I would go back to the store and demand a refund. Or not, call your credit card company and see what they can do.

Pet stores can be very deceiving in sometimes saying their puppies come from caring loving breeders.
Ok now who exactly is a 'caring loving breeder' that would sell their puppies through a third party, not have a clue where that puppy is going to end up or if it will properly taken care of and to sit on display in some pet store? Some pet stores advertise also 'local caring breeder' same drill whether local or not NO caring loving breeder would ever sell through a third party be it pet store or broker.
I know many good show breeders and we do not hesitate to 'refer' an enquirer looking for a puppy when we don't have one available or in my case, I do not ever ship and don't like to sell to anyone any distance away.
If I do refer it has to be to someone I know and trust as a good breeder.
Time will tell if this pup indeed does stay relatively healthy and adjusted. Unfortunately issues can show up as the puppy grows and matures.

I bought the puppy in person, the store was high end, really nice and fancy. It never crossed my mind that I was buying a puppy that came from a puppy mill since I don't want to encourage that kind of disgusting business. I live in mexico but travel a lot to florida, brought the puppy with me to mexico. I don't want to demand a refund since my puppy is already part of my family and love her very much. She is a very happy and loving girl, when she first came home she was afraid of absolutely everything, even though she has improved she is still very scared sometimes.
