A puppy broker is someone who buys dogs from breeders and resells them. Since a good breeder would never sell to a third party, you can be sure that dogs sold through brokers come from puppy mills. Brokers buy from lots of different breeders and sell on websites and through pet stores. It doesn't matter who she is working with, she is the one with the kennel and she's the one breeding the dogs and is responsible for the offspring. I always tell people to go visit the breeder in person because dogs living in puppy mills suffer horribly and are bred to death. They don't get proper vet care during pregnancy and it's not unusual to have health problems with the pups. One or two health problem are so expensive, that you could have bought a healthy dog from a great breeder and saved lots of money.
For those of you who are new to the world of puppy mills, watch some videos and see for yourself why you should go to the breeder's home and visit in person.
To the OP, here's one complaint on the Ripoff Report.

Puppy Sold with Fraudelent Pedigree and Forged AKC Registration
AUTHOR: Barbara - (U.S.A.)

I purchased a Havanese from Lee, Louis Anthony, and Justin Cabezas. My puppy just reached the 1 year mark and I today 3/26/07 had his OFA Certification done. I paid for full registration rights to this male havanese and have recently found out that my name was forged on the AKC Registration papers. I never got the application to register the dog and the breeder listed on the AKC registration is Dawn Coffman. The two sites I bookmarked when purchasing my dog now comes up as JENN'S Havanese located in Texas and the second bookmarked site comes up as Krystal selling pugeranians. Her web site listed is much-adopoo. Be careful buying public. My suggestion is visit the facility, check out your pet and don't go by comments posted on the sellers website as referrals.

I really hope your pup is healthy, but next time you are in the market, check out the breeder before you buy the pup, not after.
