| Why did you choose the Yorkshire Terrier? For Breeders/Handlers: I'm always curious as to the stories behind why a breeder chooses the breed they decide to share their lives with, so I'll ask YT! What's your story behind choosing the Yorkshire terrier breed and what would be the number 1 thing you would want to see change as a result of your breeding program? I'm so curious to hear some answers! Last edited by CJxDanielle; 10-16-2010 at 03:27 PM. |

Since there is no perfect Yorkie, my goal is to continue to improve with each breeding. However, the one thing I do plan to change is; instead of having CERFs performed on my dogs. I will begin having Penn & Hip Certifications. A much more in depth validation of the structure of each dog. I'm sure as time goes on there will be more improvement on tests that provide insight to a dog's health and as those improvements evolve, I'll incorporate them into my breeding program.

I wanted two things, my sister wanted a small dog, and I wanted an agility dog. We got both I'm proud to say. I do not have a breeding program for the Yorkies. But I believe the number one thing is at least two fold. First to promote the overall health of the Yorkie, and secondly to eliminate all those BYBers who are breeding substandard yorkies, and worse Yorkies with health problems.
