| First Heat Cycle Question My yorkie Ruby is 7 months soon to be eight in early Nov. She hasn't had her first heat yet. I thought it would happen at 6 or 7 months but nothing just yet. When have your yorkies gone into heat. Do they regularly get their first heat at 6 months or are they all different. Should I worry or just wait. Thanks. |

| My Ce-Ce just turned 1 year and I didnt notice any bleeding or swelling. I have been told that maybe she did have her 1st but it may have been "silent". Strange thing is, she never displayed the signs of being in heat.

| Zaylee is 9 months and is just now starting to show signs that she is just now coming into heat. She is very clingy, her um.. part is um... a lot bigger and our other FEMALE is trying to hump her. So soon it will be fun and games at our house with our male in his belly band and her in her diaper and never outside to potty together as she is way too young to have babies. I am hoping that by the time she is old enough she will gain some weight! At 9 months old she is only 4 pounds!

| Pat and I both have had females that didn't have first heat til 14 months of age. Mine is still irregular..I figger give 'em time and they will have the boys hanging around. Are you planning to breed her? If not, why not go ahead and have her spayed now..them heat cycles will be unimportant.. |

| My Pinky was 17 months old before she had her first noticable heat. The doctor said the others were probably silent. It was actually kind of nice being so late. |

| Yorkie in heat Our Yorkie Mackenzie is having her first heat. We haven't seen very much blood, but she is swollen and an absolute terror! Our male dog is sniffing everywhere she has been and he is marking, which he never has done before. She has attacked him a few times and actually drew blood. She chomps down on his back side and won't let go. Took two of us to pry her off. Has anyone else experienced this? We have to keep them separate now anyway, but it is scary. |

| they can have their first heat up to 24 months but if she has not had one by 15 months, i have been told they need to see a vet b/c they might have reproductive problems. i think on average from what i have seen here on yt, the average is about 8-10 months
