| Looking for a Yorkie Breeder Mentor Hi I am looking for a Yorkie Breeder Mentor in the Jackson, Michigan area but be willing to accept anyone in the surrounding Jackson area such as Lansing, Ann Arbor, or Detroit area. My girl Bittsy is due in approx. 2 weeks and was hoping I can find someone to mentor me and to be able to call in case my girl gets into trouble since this is our first delivery. If anyone would be interested in giving me a call and becoming my Yorkie companion/mentor that would be incredibly awesome and very helpful Thanks so much Tanisha Breton home phone 517-796-0259 email address TanishaBreton@aol.com if not home leave a message and I will call you back Thanks again!!!! |

Senior Yorkie Talker | Have you tried looking on the YTCA website? They have a breeder list there for different states. You may be able to find a breeder that is willing to mentor you. Just a thought. Also, some of the best breeders on YT suggested to me that I start going to shows and get to know the breeders there. Maybe, you can find a great mentor there. I will be attending my first show next month and I am very hopeful that I will meet some wonderful people. Here is the link. Good luck to you. A breeder may help deliver this litter out of compassion for the dog but that will be as far as it goes. Why not contact whoever you got her from or do you have breeding rights in the first place and can't tell the breeder she is due in two weeks? I have read all the other threads you started on this matter, this one is not the only one. this scenario is the main reason reputable breeders do not sell to just anyone and often will spay neuter their puppies first.

Senior Yorkie Talker | Oh my, I should have read your post all the way through. Lorraine is right. You don't have much time and a vet that specializes in small breeds would be best. Good luck. I hope all goes well. YorkieProud |

| When you sell (do you sell pups) and have them spay/neutered what is the absolute earliest you can spay/neuter? I thought it was 6mo. Am I wrong? Quote:

For those less than six months, on the rare occasion I am letting it go to a new home before 6 mos, it is not spayed or neutered. I have a non breeding contract, new owner is either known to me because they have been referred and is a friend/relative of someone I know. If it is someone who found me by other means, they are interviewed and I check them out first. I also do not ship, new owners live in my area. If I have any doubts, I won't sell it to that person.
