| Seeking advice from reputable, educated breeders? I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong place, but I desperately need help. As many of you know, my beloved Terry was killed. Terry and I were heavily involved in a pets for therapy group. Since his passing, I've suffered many personal issues. Night terrors, wetting myself and horrific stuff I'd rather not go into. Pets for Therapy was the only thing that helped me with my issues. Considering how downhill I've fallen, my mother is insisting we get another dog so I can continue my therapy. I've contacted all the Australian breeders and I'm just not satisfied. Is there any international non puppy mills we can look into? Preferably not a yorkie...It's been far too soon since Terry.

| Since your Teddy paid a terrific price at the hands of your x-boyfriend...I'd would NOT suggest putting another pet at risk! I also agree with the above poster and would recommend seeking medical attention for your needs vs. pet therapy.

| I am in a lot of therapy and on medication etc. I'm part of a pets for therapy group and that was really helping me deal with personal issues. I've been in therapy most of my life and this was what was really helping me. I guess I just don't want to live in fear of that horrible person for the rest of my life. But you're right, I need to wait longer to make sure any furbaby brought into my life is safe. Thank you for your replies and not making fun of me..You'd be amazed how many people do.

| There are lots of small breeds you can look into. toy poodles are wonderful little dogs, I grew up with them... they are very smart, easy to train. You could also look into malteses, chis, shih tzus, papillons, etc. Basically you have lots of choices, have you considered looking into at a rescue organization? There are lots of dogs out there in need of a home and some TLC who would make a great therapy dog for you! Good Luck, I am sure you can find a great new friend... and now that you know the risks you can just take extra precautions... no need not to have the love of a dog! |

| Perhaps with her X boyfriend, a rottie or a Pitt bull would be a better choice. |

| Thank you, I have been thinking about a little poodle, my friend has two and they are the gentlest dogs. Not interested in a pittbull or a rottie....Rotties scare me!

| Perhaps it's time to find another therapist. You need to heal yourself and although a pet can help they are not going to be able to give you everything you need. Somewhat like people who feel they have to have a partner in their life to feel whole. It may help but does not solve the underlying problems. Given what happened to your pup, I would not consider putting another pet at risk, at least until your boyfriend is long gone. And you need to watch your back as it is well known that many people who end up murdering starting out with killing or mutilating animals. Do what you need to do to heal and then consider a pet in the future. Good luck with your healing process.

| Yeah well, I don't ever want to think about him again. I hope the cops scared him enough to stay away.
