Bloodlines: Candytops Hi, guys, Please can anyone tell me about the Candytops line, is it English, American, Canadian or Irish? What is behind it, what type of Yorkie is connected to it? Crufts winner 2009 is Candytops Cosmoplitan. Nice, the pics are not very good of her. Please help with all info you have, I am waiting for a pup from a Candytops line, Fitzelly Jonathan, Irish Champion is the sire, a delicate beauty I have seen him in Dublin. The breeder is a dogmad couple, very nice but too busy to send me the pedigrees, and they are not in any database. Thanks for all links and replies!

| I don't like the idea that their to busy to send you copies of the pedigrees. Thats a red flag to me! I got copies of my little guys pedigrees even though the people were busy. Other than not trusting that they don't have the time to send you the pedigrees (they could be hiding something), I dont know about anything else. Sorry I don't have much of an answer. I will be keeping an eye on your post to see if there is something someone can help you with.

Lovely dogs-- I saw some at Crufts in 2008, lovely. They're in England and I'll look up what I have from that show. I expect they have a good waiting list for their puppies and don't need to bother sending out pictures and pedigrees. Actually, the Kennel Club (UK) will probably just give you their phone number if you call them. I wouldn't mind getting on their list myself.

bloodlines Thanks for your replies! Magicgenie, you are right, I don't like Candytops Cosmopolitan so much, she looks like one with big ears in the only pic I have managed to find so far. The dad of the pups i am interested in, (but not commited to buy!) is a beauty, Fitzelly Jonathan, he is not registered anywhere in a database but supposed to be a Candytops like the others, as this Fitzelly breeder has built their breeding with this Candytops line which is English. The Irish are too lazy for this and do not seem to like disclosing their secrets... I have since found a database where the Canditops are all featured, their pedigrees are empty!!!!! Father unknown, mother unknown, everyone unknown...! Lucky that these nobodies seem to produce lovely dogs! I don't know the name of the mothers, there are two litters expected, but I will go there soon and get all the info out of them. They are an old couple and a bit on the squeamish side... anyway, they have their 32 Yorkies in the house... I would still like to research more, by the way, the breeders are just busy showing, and with so many dogs in the house, I can imagine they are busy just feeding etc! I have written to the Irish Kennelclub, but no answer, so I will try the English Kennelclub to get more info and also the breedingstock of the Fitzsimmons and the pedigrees of their dogs. Even an empty pedigree must have a beginning... maybe Ch Blairsville Royal Seal? Thanks for trying to find out more for me, I really appreciate this!

I did more looking around last night--- on the internet--I found Candytops on pedigrees from the 1970s, so they're no flash-in-the-pan. I'll check my Crufts catalog and look up the breeders' address. I'll be dying to know what you find and decide since my breeding is very European and I'm always looking for something nice to add to it.

Here's a new clue-- Ojibwa Yorkies this is a link to the website of a US breeder who has posted some old pedigrees, including Hubbardsfield Ben's. One pedigree is for Am&Can CH Finstal Royal Icing, BISS. This dog shows up on many of the best pedigrees, and has a lot of Candytops in the line.

Bloodlines Hi, genie, what's your real name? Your username is the same as a little YorkieX we had for 8 years, she died in Feb. this year from a heart condition and a tumour in the bowl, we think. We could not operate even to look because of her weak heart. A local "vet" came out to her shop to look at her but did not know a thing, a student fresh out of med school, alone on emergency call! On top of that, she refused to do a simple Xray, coz it was in the middle of the night! Well, you understand we were crazy with fear and tried to do everything to save her or make her pain free, this idiot did not even realize that she was in pain, because she just trembled, but did not scream! Sorry, it just all comes back, we miss her so much, she slept in our bed, before her we lost 5 Greyhounds of various old age illnesses at 13.5 years all within two years, and we are still not over them either, it's only 1 year ago the last one passed on Valentines Day... But about the bloodlines, thanks very much for searching, I will check out the Objiwa website, sounds like a Native Indian name. I will go to see the breeder Fitzelly (Mr and Mrs Fitzsimmons) in Mai, around the 12 May the pups will be born and on the 30 May is the European Dog Show in Dublin and we will go there and I will make photos, before at their home I will make photos of sires and dames and tell them to give me the names of sires and dams etc. Interesting that you have European bloodlines, which ones? Would you say the Candytops is a good line? How long have you been breeding, will you tell me your website, show photos of your dogs? I find that the candytops look similar to the Ozmillion, although they are not related, am I right, I am just judging from the pics. I cannot find pics of the Fitzelly dogs Jonathon, Missy and another two, whose names I have forgotten at the moment, but written down. Did you not find the Candytops pedigrees empty? Thanks for all your info, I have written to some databases in the UK and the British and Irish Kennelclubs for info, so far no reply. Hope and pray. Mind you, I like research, especially if it yields results! With other breeds I never had problems getting pedigrees and pics, and there was also more info on the net...or am I looking in the wrong places?

bloodlines Magicgenie, hi, hope you still like to talk. I would like to know what is behind this Canditops line... Blairsville Seal or who else? I have seen the pedigree of Crufts winner 2009, Canditops Cosmopolitan, and there was emptiness after sire and dam...! I also looked at the dog you told me and found interesting lines but what i really want to know is the linage of Fitzelly Jonathon, Irish Champion. I cannot find records of this dog anywhere although he is a registered champion! I will write to the owner and tell her that I am not interested in her pups anylonger unless she sends me a pedigree. There are more famous and even more beautiful dogs out there to buy, if I have to travel abroad for a pup, then, so be it. I like the French dogs, but they all still cut the tails off! Something else, which should probably be under a different heading: runny eyes! I know it occurs in many small breeds and I have just taken on a Toy Poodle girl of 3 month and she has a lot of eye drainage. Any ideas, recipes? Thanks a lot!

Candytops Hello Flipflop, I don't get on here very often. I saw Candytops Cosmopolitan at Crufts in 2007. Her sire was there too, Ch Candytops Contradiction. Owner listed as Mrs. N. Dauphin-Simmons, Surrey, UK. I'll PM you her address and phone number as well as my email if you can update me of whatever you learn from her. Post your question about tears in the Sick & Injured forum for good advice about that.

Candytops kennel This affix is held by Mrs Christine Crowther who lives in Pelsall, Walsall, West Midlands, just outside Birmingham, England. She is a judge of Yorkshire Terriers and has been breeding and showing most of her life. She is very well respected throughout the breed. I have used one of her champion dogs for stud and have also purchased a bitch puppy from her. She is a fountain of knowledge and a wonderful lady. Hope this helps.

| Thank you Aftonheathann. This is a very old thread but Candytops still looks to be very active in UK. Crowther, yes, big name in Yorkshire Terriers in UK. I'd love to talk to anyone who has access to the line.
