One breeding is all it takes if the timing is right. Like Susan said once the bleeding stops they are usually ready. I usually breed the 9th, 11th and 13th or 14th day of the heat cycle. If I had to choose just one day then I would breed on the 11th day. It is better to be a little early than late since the sperm can live 5 to 7 days.
