| whats your opinion? i have a female that i have bred once before to a different male..she had 5 puppies i knew she was pregnant now i have a new male..she might have been in heat in may but i didnt see anything..the male would have been 6 months old. born nov 12 i dont remeber what her stomach looked like and signs until she was almsot due and she had 5 so she was a big girl im wondering if i just have wishful thinking here..but i think she is very sleepy and she will not stay outside..she hops and bumps the door opened withing a minute or 2 she isnt a playful pup..her and tanner will chase each other late in the afternoon for a fre minutes but the rest of the day she is sleeeepin her nipples are sticking out but are still dark in color and a little dry no discharge that i have noticed (oh she concevied the last time the end of november) i was teasing her about being a little fatty the other day before this idea to root her stomach is firm..when she lays on her sides sometimes, sometimes i can feel lumps..could it be babies?? whats your opinion on my situration?? |

| My opinion is that it is possible that she could have came in heat but not likely that the puppy bred her. She may acting the way she is because she is probably getting ready to come in heat. My suggestion to you and anyone else with unspayed females is to check them regularly for signs of a heat cycle. We are seeing way too many accidental breedings that are putting puppy's and momma's lives at risk. I would never leave a male with a female that is in heat. Breedings should be well planned and supervised. |

It could also be a false pregnancy or an illness. Personally I would take her in for an ultrasound to check for pregnancy asap, I do not like surprises when it comes to my yorkie kids.

| If you think there may have beena tie sometime in May you can hear heartbeats by this time. Do you have a stethoscope? At 6 weeks I heard the puppies and you can deffinately hear the difference between the mom and puppies heartbeats. I would take Lola to my bed where it was very quiet and put the stethoscope on her sides under her ribs and I found the heartbeats. It was something I'll never forget. You should get an ultrasound or Xray done soon. Lola did start showing a discharge around 5 weeks. It wasn't much ,just like the size of a green pea? Like a booger lol stuck on her vulva. ♥My Lil' Monkey Girl♥ Donating Member | I would definitely treat her as she is. A tie is a good sign that they will become pregnant. But there are chance they could tie and not be. Also, there have been cases where they have not tied and still been pregnant. My Peyton had tied for the first time for about 20 minutes and the second tie was for about 12 minutes. She is definitely pregnant which you can see at 8weeks! I hope the best for you and your little one. My fingers are crossed for you! Below i have placed a picture of Peyton at 8 weeks!
