| Mika stop producing milk! Plesae help Yesterday she was ok. Today I notice the puppies where complaining more. it's her 4th day and not more milk for her 2 little puppies. I weight the puppies every morning and they are ok for now. I just open some esbilac and will now feed them myself. OK so Mika haven't been eating or drinking much since she gave birth last Saturday.I know this is not helping. So I am working on that now I am hand feeding her and gave her chicken broth. Some vitamins (enervite),Vanilla ice cream. And some esbilac. So any advice to boost her milk? Thanks... |

| Have you taken her temperature? Make sure she does not have a fever because if she gets a uterus infection she will stop eating. She should be eating four meals a day. If her temperature is normal then you must do everything you can to make her eat. Mine liked canned Pedigree Lamb and Rice puppy food. Try some hard boiled eggs and cottage cheese. Has she had any diarrhea since the pups were born? Please keep us posted on how she is doing. |

| I am so sorry you are having such a time with this litter. Hope everything goes well for you, mamma and the babies. Keep us informed. I usually start giving my mammas to be a heaping tablespoon each of cottage cheese and mostly raw liver with a good quality dry puppy food about 4-5 weeks before whelping. Then when they are nursing I add a tablespoon or two of each with more dry puppy food. My vet has also said to add goats milk to her food but I have not had to do that yet. Just a few suggestions. So Mika's got a little milk this morning.. not much but she got only 2 puppies so they will get some. She also got diarrhea this morning. I am taking the puppies to the vet for tale docking/deworming today so I will get a check up for Mika too. The puppies have put on weight,I weight them this morning , there are good. I stuff them with esbilac yesterday as they where crying for food. I am going to buy the best can food my vet can give me.. hope Mika will like it. As for now she eat and drink very little.. and ONLY from my hand palm...not easy for the water... Thanks for your helps guys, I will be back after the vet check her up. | |

| You may have to continue to feed her by hand...We often sit by the whelping box and hand feed new mommas...They do not like to get up and out of the box...She will eventually start to eat on her own...Soft food has a lot of water in it and will take care of some of her water intake... You can also offer her fresh cold water while she is in her box!...If she will not take the water from the bowl, use a syringe filled with water and feed it to her that way... Also take her temp twice a day for several weeks following whelping!..It is the first indication that trouble is brewing...

| So the vet think she doesn't look to bad. We are doing some stool testing and I got antibiotic for Mika in case she got an infection. I will have to feed the puppies on my own for 5 days until antibiotic are finish but I work a lot from home so that is fine. . . I been feeding them already since yesterday anyway. Mika eat some of the can food (still by hand). Her temperature is ok. Thanks you all again, I will keep you guys updated |
