In early Sept I contacted YT vendor Adrianna Balderas wanting information on a Kwigy Bo carrier. I put an order for a Alex Luxe bag and sent her a personal check dated and sent around Sept 28. Having had good communication with her via YT PM, I tried contacting her twice before putting a stop payment on a check. I placed my stop payment on the Oct 7th, and I notified her that same day. My reasons for placing a stop payment was her lack of communication, my paranoia for having sent a personal check by mail, and having checked the Kwigy Bo website the bag I wanted was out of stock anyway. She contacted me on the around the 17th and asked me if I still wanted a bag and that my check was in her possession. I replied on the 17th to her personal email address again letting her know that the check was no longer good and not to cash it. She did anyway on Oct 17th. She went to a check cashing place who then gave her money in exchange for my check.
They have now sent me two letters, which I received yesterday from my dad, it was sent to his address. On the letter the check cashing place says that they are going to sue me for $1000 in punitive damages plus $170 for the amount of the check and a $25 service fee. I gave the check cash place a call after trying to communicate with Adrianna (annamalyssa) with no luck both through personal email and through a YT friend who has helped her in the past. The check cash lady told me that Adrianna use to come in everyday with money orders and checks and they were always able to cash them. Adrianna was a regular customer who often brought Gucci along. They said since Adrianna had been a regular customer for a while they just cashed her check (mine) in good faith not knowing that I had already put a stop payment on the check. Since I signed a check that made me liable for that money even though the check had not been valid for 10 days. The check cash lady said the laws protect her and her employer, an innocent third party, and there is nothing I can do but pay up. I am legally responsible for the amount I mentioned above because I wrote a check. The laws apparently don't protect me.
The check cash lady also shared how much of a hard time they have had trying to locate Adrianna. Her phone number is no longer valid, she no longer stops by everyday as she use to, and the letters that are sent are not answered or acknowledged by Adrianna. Adrianna has simply gone MIA. This last bit of information is what convinced me to start this thread.
This is not a rant, this is just the facts and after my conversation with the check cashing lady I felt it was necessary that I warn my YT family. I am not trying to tarnish her reputation, I just want her actions to speak for themselves. I would have waited but after speaking with someone that assures me that I will be held accountable for $1170, I felt the need to speak up.
PLEASE DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH ANNAMALYSSA!

I"m so sorry this is happening for both of your sakes. I do have one question. It sounds like you put the stop payment on your check about a week after you wrote/mailed it. Why so soon? That's the only confusing part of your story.

I am very sorry that you are going through this. Have you spoken with your bank? I can not imagine that you are not protected, somehow??? I hope you can get this straightened out. I wish you all the best.

can't you sue her for not providing the carrier if she actually cashed the check?

Also, you have not yet been sued, right? Could they cancel the lawsuit if you paid the amount of the check $170 and the $25 fee? Then, you could take her to small claims court, or try to work something else out.

It's possible that something has happened to her. I"m not making excuses. I don't even know her and have never done business with her that I know of. I just sincerely hope it all works out.

I would talk to your bank and seek legal advice. If you put a stop on the check and you even sent her that info she had no reason to cash it. I would not pay anything yet until you get all the facts. The check cashing people might say anything to get their money. Good luck, and this is just so sad. :(

My parents have had a bad experience sending money by USPS, which is what I did. It has been my experience that mail through within Cali doesn't take very long. I freaked when I stopped hearing from her. She and I had communication basically everyday through PM. Plus, more and more bad threads were popping out about her. I basically freaked. I know my bad, but I felt protected by the fact that I could stop payment on a check I had written vs a money order (which are her only 2 forms of acceptable payment) which I felt once the money was out of my hand, I couldn't control it anymore. That was my reasoning.
Before I had placed my order, I read so many threads about Adrianna's good reputation, her ability to get deals and her great customer service. Once the check was out there and on it's way, I started to see more of the negative threads being written. What can I say, I'm human and I got scared and placed a stop payment. I let her know that check was no longer valid. She had that information I don't see how that now ties me in with a $1000 fine.
I honestly don't wish her any ill will. I'm sorry her vendor reputation is going down the drain. I only wish she can tie her loose ends first before she starts to re-build herself as a YT vendor, which is why I wrote this thread. I don't intend to call her names, I have no ill will towards her personally, I just don't want anyone else to be in my place.

Sweetie, Have you tallked to an attorney? The lady at the check cashing company can lie to you as well. She's trying to get the money her company is trying to collect. If I was in your shoes I would contact the bank you used to seek their assistance and/or contact an attorney. So sorry this happened to you.

I worked at a bank for 17 years, and something doesn't sound quite right here. If you placed a stop payment on the check, I don't see how you could be responsible for the money.

I could be wrong, but I think they are trying to "strong arm" you. They are responsible for cashing the check, and they need to collect from the person they gave the money to. They can try to make you pay, but are you liable? Please check this out before you give them one red cent.

I haven't been posting/reading very regularly lately, so the fact that others were having issues as well is news to me. I'm so sorry.

So sorry you are going through this, only to still not get the bag. She's ruined her own reputation if she cashed your check and didn't even bother sending you the merchandise...even if you put a stop payment on it, since she cashed it, the bag is paid for. That is now stealing.

How ugly & I know a big inconvenience but hope this all gets worked out.

Honestly, I'm sorry if she's suffering through something horrible right now. I had 3 family members die in early June and I know how horrible having to deal with that and my own going ons was. I had to postpone my grad date because I couldn't handle everything at once.
But, my only dispute there is that there are other threads where money from March of this year is being disputed. If she was having problems keeping up with customers then is what scares me. I am not judging her at all, I just don't want anyone else to end up in this situation.


Please Annamalyssa if you're reading this call the check cashing place you used. I don't want to owe that much money, or take anyone to small claims court. I am trying anything to get your attention. PLEASE HELP ME FIX THIS!!!

Thank you for the comment. I am not sending anyone anything until I speak to the bank. I read the letters late yesterday so the banks were closed. I will be speaking with them tomorrow and the manager of the check cashing place. I'm honestly very scared to be in the hole for so much money.

On a side note, I did get a bag for Kaji. I got it from a different vendor on YT. He's been using it for over a week and he loves it! I have just been to busy to post thank yous.

Others have had many problems with this person. Looking at her profile comments tells you a little about it. I think someone on here was in communication with this person and got some of the complaints worked out.

I called my childhood friend who also works for a bank in TN. She said the same thing you are saying. She just didn't say it so sweetly.

Just a thought....Maybe Adrianna and "the check cashing lady" are friends! :eek: I brought "A LOT" of clothes from her a couple of months ago. As soon as I told her I had mailed the check, she PMed me and said someone else had already paid for a couple of the items. She made it up to me and actually sent a couple extra items, but I was disappointed I didn't get what I have originally paid for. I had no other problem with her or the items I received.

It sounds like the check cashing people are coming after you because they can't reach her...that doesn't sound like good business. I would look into the legalities of that before I pay up.

I agree with this post, if you placed a stop payment before the check was cashed, you are not liable, get with your bank on this.

What a shame!

I learned about money orders the hard way. I would never EVER think of sending a money order again. I trusted this person I had been in communication with via e-mail for concert tickets. Money ordered them $300 and never heard from them again. Terrible situation, but I was stupid for believing his story as to why he had to be money ordered $$. It's really bad for a seller selling running somewhat of a "store" to not take PayPal. That way you're protected.

I'm sure you should be covered, esp. if you put a stop on the check. It does not make any sense for you to have to pay up that kind of $$$.

I think you should let admin know about this so he can ban her so she cant sell to anyone on here. There have been other incidents where people have paid for stuff and not received anything

But you only contacted me this evening. I did send her an email this evening per yr request hoping to hear from her. I don't know anything about stop paymts, but if you put a stop paymt on it Oct 7, how was she able to cash it Oct 17? As I stated, I hope that all can be resolved. She did in previous emails, mention that she was waiting on 2 bags.

I went back to read her emails & she states:
I have 2 people that ordered Kwigy-Bo's but the brown bag isn't in Stock yet and the black bag is being ordered on the 29th and sent to the buyer.

At that time, you didn't address any problems on other thread, really more concern about what was going on with her.

I haven't done business with this YT member, but I have read lots of complaints about her. I would be leery about anyone who doesn't take paypal. I hope everything gets worked out from all ends.

I know you are her friend but this is a serious matter and no one should have to go through you to get Annamaylissa. I hope admin stops her from selling on here
