From what I understand - The person you are buying for is not the same person you'll be receiving a gift from. You get assigned a person to buy for, and you're given that person's name and all the details they've given on the sign-up sheet. So you know who you are buying for. And your name is assigned to someone else, so you don't know who is buying for you. You're supposed to reveal who you are in the box with the gift.

Here I was wondering about this for about a year and now I know...and all I had to do was ask....Thanks guys you cleared that up for me

This will be our second GE and we are so excited... I think I will put both of mine in the GE this time, or maybe just Boo-Boo as Pheoebe participated last time.I don't know yet, depends on the money I have to spend, with my baby coming as well.

This will be our very first YT GE and we are super excited and as much as I want to start shopping early for our buddy we just can't until we know if our buddy is a she or he; likes bows/doesn't like bows; clothes/no clothes; blankies/no blankies; food treats, etc. etc. BUT, what I did do was send out a PM to some of my YT vendors giving them a heads up that I would be getting some things from them for our GE buddy....going to support my YT vendors as much as I can.

I've been excited since the last one when I think I bugged everyone's hint thread..lol. (I just joined YT right when the last one started and it was still fun for me just to read all the threads of excitement).

Please note that it is not required for GE participants to participate in the GE Hint threads. The only basic requirements are sending a gift and writing a thank you thread.

As there may be 60 or 80 members in the GE, it's not reasonable to expect all members to read each and every hint thread. Hint threads are allowed, but part of the fun of the YT GE is for the gift receiver not to know who their secret buddy is until AFTER they receive their gift.
