| anyone else concerned about the next GE?? Layla and i LOVE the GEs, but i feel this year my list of "what she can't have" would be longer than my list of what she can have.... even more so now with all these toy recalls... i know we are supposed to be thankful for what we get and we have been spoiled in the two that we have been in! i think i might not join up for the next one.... i don't want to seem picky but i also dont' want someone to spend money on something Layla can't have... anyone have thoughts on this?? |

| We love the gift exchanges, but I wish that we could have one that we made our gifts, granted I don't sew but we could do something from the heart and maybe have a limit on like 2 toys you can buy and the rest is made by you....

| Great idea Kim! Have everyone get a little creative Or instead of buying gifts we could make donations to our local animal shelters or humane societies in our buddies names. Just some ideas~ |

| I like the idea of being creative. It would mean a lot more if someone made you something special.

| I'm going to sign up! I'm so excited for it! I think being creative is great-I know I made a couple things for Yoda in the last (our first) GE! Please don't NOT participate-it's ok to have a long list of things she can't have-mine will have the same thing going on!

| GREAT ideas.... i like limiting how many things you can "buy" but if you aren't creative you could "buy" a handmade gift?? and i love the donation idea.. Layla needs more toys/clothes/treats like she needs a hole in the head but i love when she gets mail so how great would a few small things and DONATION be!!! i just love it!!! |

| Last GE I made some things and bought some things, and the homemade items seemed to go over well. I enjoy making things. I just haven't made many toys. My list won't be long, just short and sweet. It will say, "Please no rawhide, Greenies, or items made in China. Handmade items and/or donations made in Gizmo's name to the yorkie rescue of your choice or the ASPCA would be greatly appreciated." How's that?

| I won't participate in the GE anymore. It seems to become a contest on who sends the most items, and this isn't what it should be. I think there should be a set amount of like $20.00 tops. I don't even buy my best friends the amount of of gifts for their dogs as expected on this exchange. So, I'm backing out. |

| i've never seen it that way either... the rules say explicitly how much is expected and you are welcome to do more... i just love that Layla gets mail and i love sending stuff... but if you aren't comfortable with it then maybe the best idea is to back out for a bit until you hopefully change your mind |

Therapy Dog Donating Member | I can't wait to be a part of the YT GE - it was so much fun seeing the great posts with all the clues and how exciting it was to see all the great pics of our furbuts standing on boxes, sitting amongst their treasures....and I wasn't even a part of it since I just joined when the last YT started. I'm with Judy in that I will have the same statement for things for Izzy - nothing from China, no rawhide and no Greenies., etc. There are tons of very talelented YTers that make the greatest clothes, bows, blankies, etc. My personal opinion on the GE is if you want to participate that's great - if you don't that fine too - it's your choice but I don't want it to go away.
