I think that a cap would maybe help some others feel better about joining... I always think I'm not sending enough and I always get more stuff... I've done 3 ge's and I have spent a good 250 each time.... But it's sooo much fun!! I honestly don't care how much I receive in return... but just knowing I've reached a "limit" might help!

I think making a limit will help others feel more comfortable about joining too, but i'm not sure that the limit would actually be listened too, lol. I haven't participated in a GE yet, but I know when I shop for gifts (even with a limit), I spend more than I'm supposed too, and I'm okay with that. I may have a shopping addiction (haha) So then we'd end up being in the same spot. A limit, but people not listening to it. and can you actually reinforce an upper limit??

I think if someone wants to spend 200 on gifts, then fine!

and if someone wants to spent 40, then fine!

I think all of us here don't expect elaborate gifts and would happy with whatever our buddy decides to give!

I am all for a cap on the spending. The cap would help ME! That would keep one from overspending.

I agree with what DBlain was saying about two dresses being $40 and with a minimum of $40 I don't feel that is much for our buddy. But I do think a $100 cap is reasonable.

To me the smilebox has never been an issue. But I love technology so it is not a problem. Personally, I do not have a problem with my buddy posting pictures instead. Basically it is the same thing and I think pictures would be just fine!

I also like the 5 hints idea. The last GE I just ended up confusing myself so much that I would post on threads I had already been knocked out of.

So the 5 hints would probably be a really good thing for me!

The GE can be so much fun. I think having the cap on the spending will take some of the stress out of it for members. Honestly, I think looking at what others have gotten in the past is what may be discouraging them to participate. I don't know, just my thinking. The cap might help with this.

I agree too, a suggested cap of 100 seems like it could help. Suggested, because if people still wanna reeeally spoil, I dont see the harm.
