Well it's mostly for the yorkies....however many in the GE do send a small gift to the mommy's.. (or daddies if they are the one with the ID name) You can look thru the Old GE threads if you want an idea of what gifts others have sent!!

| You can change anything here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/yt-...nt-change.html Hopefully, everyone in the gift exchange will look at this thread also to see if there's any changes.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Hmmmmm...before I totally wear out certain keys on this keyboard, can someone share the "usual" way of finding out who your secret buddy is? Are they sent in PM's? Does everyone generally find out about the same time? Is it announced morning or afternoon? When the sign-up ends on a Thursday, would you guess we'd know by Saturday or Sunday? Is is a rare event for SB's to have each other's names? Is it always a seemingly endless time before finding out whose name you got? Is this the largest GE ever? Not that any of these questions is of supreme importance but they did kill a bit more time...LOL Hmmmm...have the ones announcing the names ever worked in the refund department of the IRS? You know as in being really, really good at spotlighting the suspense...causing you to check the postings at least every hour? Oh, well...patience has never been my forte...it's a shame I have to reveal my "lack thereof" to the whole cyberworld. Hmmm...wonder if reverse psychology would work? Gee, I'm not even interested in finding out who my secret buddy is. It's about as important to me as watching paint dry. Finding out who is our secret buddy to buy for would only be about as useful as a screen door on a submarine. Think I'll go take a long nap. Maybe I'll check again when I wake up...or maybe not. It's not like I enjoy these secret games or something! Besides, I need to go empty the lint basket on my dryer. |

Yes, admin will send out a PM with your buddy's name and address and a link to their sign up post Does everyone generally find out about the same time? Yes, everyone finds out at the same time. Is it announced morning or afternoon? It varies, apparently admin has a life. When the sign-up ends on a Thursday, would you guess we'd know by Saturday or Sunday? It's most likely that if the sign ups end at the end of the week that admin will send the PMs out over the weekend at some point. Is is a rare event for SB's to have each other's names? It's been known to happen before but the rules state that buddys are randomly selected. Is it always a seemingly endless time before finding out whose name you got? Is this the largest GE ever? Unfortunately yes. Not that any of these questions is of supreme importance but they did kill a bit more time...LOL So did answering them. Hmmmm...have the ones announcing the names ever worked in the refund department of the IRS? You know as in being really, really good at spotlighting the suspense...causing you to check the postings at least every hour? LOL Oh, well...patience has never been my forte...it's a shame I have to reveal my "lack thereof" to the whole cyberworld. Hmmm...wonder if reverse psychology would work? Probably not but it's worth a try. lol - go ahead. Quote:

| Oh Debbie! I am so glad that we are all excited about the GE! I can't wait to find out who my SB is! I went shopping yesterday and I had no clue what to get! Max and Molly went and they weren't much help b/c they really aren't much into toys or treats (well Molly LOVES food period)... They were so interested in the OTHER dogs that I eventually put them in the cart and just pushed them around (which was so cute and I totally didn't even think about getting a picture! UGH) But anyway, I really hope that my SB has given us a lot of ideas b/c you know how I get anxiety and worry over gifts! *takes deep breathe* I can't wait though! I keep checking every few minutes seeing if I have a PM and I can't STOP reading over all the GE signups wondering... "are you my SB?" I think the babies are starting to wonder what is making Mommy so crazy and excited! Is it Mimi? Harley? Taffy? Juicy? Tobie? Bella? Ben? AHHHH!!!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | LOL, Robin! I enjoyed both yours and the person "me" in Gypsy and Me's posts. For the first time in our 22 years of marriage, we remembered IN TIME that today was the running of the KY Derby. Yes, I know I remembered it yesterday but I've slept since then. What I didn't realize was that it is strung out forever (it seems) before the actual race! I've seen enough other sporting event coverages that I should have realized but didn't. (Frankly, we've never seen the KY Derby before except on replay...LOL) Now, I'm going bonkers waiting for the race AND the naming of the secret buddies! I need a good book to read, I think....or that nap I've been trying to take since yesterday. Taffy picked early this morning (3 am) to decide that potty time should be play time and I haven't slept much in the last 24 hours. What a time for her to decide she's a puppy! Generally she goes back to sleep after her potty break during the night but not last night. Well, one thing is sure...it won't be as long now as it has been before we find out...LOL Boy, I sure appreciate the work the organizers are putting into this. It's alot harder than just putting names in a hat for someone to pull out...LOL...although that would work, I guess...drawing by proxy...LOL |

And to Debbie about the KY Derby.... I've never been a big race fan so I don't think I have ever watched the derby. I've been to Churchill Downs a few times on field trips while in school but that's pretty much it. I guess I just don't see the big deal .... some people around here really get into it. Come on admin... how dare you try to have a life outside of YT?!

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Nice to meet you, Vicky! I'm looking forward to getting to "maybe" know other real names during this exchange, too. Robin has the foresight to put me in her sign-up so I can be the relayer of questions and answers and I wish I'd thought of it! Maybe whoever gets Taffy's name will use Robin as a go-to anyway. As far as the Derby though...Robin, you're from KY and don't watch? It's such a tradition for your state! Even I get weepy when I hear strains of "My Old KY Home" and I have no history at all there...LOL We always see it but just not in "real time" since it's over in a couple of minutes. (We generally remember as we see it on the evening news...LOL) Today was a special win...the guy came from behind. I always like to see anyone "unexpected" win a race! Poor admin who oversee this GE. I hope they know we're just killing time teasing them about all this. I haven't had a chance to play with a secret since I retired 7 years ago. (Oops...not that I'm real good at it anyway...already told my husband about his surprise 60th birthday party coming in June. Guess I need to erase the thought of the surprise...LOL) Just think...we're closer to knowing than we were. |
