| Is it right to resale past gifts that your pups... or not right?: I saw a post a while back where another member asked in a for sale post how could the other member could sale something that was given ito them in the gift exchange. So I was just wondering what the rules are or is it just not right to do so? Should you just give it away once it gets to small or your pup doesn't play with it anymore.

Donating YT 10K Club Member | There isn't any "rule" although perhaps the gifter was offended. I consider it the same as any item you no longer use in your home....personally I'd rather see someone getting use out of it.

| Yea, I have given things away to my friends with new yorkies, but I didn't know how to take it. I guess some would look at it like it was a gift so you should give it away to and not sale it.

| I would think it to be very rude if they sold it right after you gave it to them. But if it's been a while and your baby has outgrown it or not using it any longer, then I don't see why you couldn't sell it I can understand the giving it away though since you got it as a gift

| If it is un-used I don't see a problem with re-gifting it for another GE, but selling it on YT would be very impolite since that buddy put effort into making the package special just for you. Another option is you can allways donate it to a rescue group.

| I personally wouldn't be offended...but I can see how some would. It might be better to give it to someone...but if you don't think it's wrong then it's really a personal choice. Even if it did make the person who gave it to you mad, they probably wouldn't say anything about it. It probably also depends on the reason for selling it. I think your dog outgrowing it is a completely acceptable reason to sell. |

| It would not offend me --not one little bit. In fact I would much rather you sell something I have given you than just let it sit gathering dust. I would like to add that many of the gifts I send are hand made and it would hurt my feelings knowing that they were not being enjoyed and/or used. That's just "me" I am sure that there as many different answers as there are people in the GE exchange. Last edited by chattiesmom; 11-14-2007 at 09:25 PM. |

| I guess I wouldn't mind it being sold as long as it wasn't just sitting somewhere not being used.

| I wouldn't be offended. I gave it as a gift it belongs to that person to do what they please. It's hard to buy something for someone you may not personally know etc. I would fully understand if I sent a gift that wasn't quite their thing. Now if it was my daughter who turned around and sold something I just gave her... I think my feelings would be bruised.

| Ok well I can definetly ANSWER this question because I did it.......Bailey had rec'd a Valentine's Day Shirt from his SB but it was way to big when he tried it on, so I was like maybe he will grown into it but after several months it was still too big and I knew Bailey wasn't getting any bigger So I sold it on one of my forsale threads but I did mention that I wasn't trying to make a profit off of this because it was given to me as a gift but it was just too big for Mr. Bailey, I think I sold it for like 5.00 bucks which half went to shipping, but I rathered see the shirt go to someone who can definetly enjoy it rather than it sitting in Bailey's closet unused. ANDDD Bailey's SB's mom understood. BUTTTTT I do think it would be wrong to recieve a box of goodies and a month later have it on a for sale thread, thats kinda disrespectful.

| My own feelings - I would never sell a gift that had been given to Lucy. I would give it away or donate it.
