| coat growth hey all i am new to yorkietalk and i wanted to ask you all if you know when a yorkies coat grows. Bella is currently five months old and she still has the ''puppy coat''. Do you think that i should take her to a groomer? (maybe a cut would give it strength to grow?) Thank you |

| Welcome to Yorkietalk! My Rosie is 11 months old and has never gotten her coat cut. She has gone in to have her ears shaped up, feet trimmed, and her privates area cut, but never her coat. At 11 months it now is barely touching the floor. So, to answer your question...I never got my pup's hair trimmed. It may not hurt to have it done since we humans sometimes need to trim ours to let it grow, but I'm not sure. Since Bella is still a puppy, she still has her puppy coat. Rosie's puppy hair was super coarse and thick. What I did was coat it in coconut oil and let it sink into her skin, then wash and condition it out. Her hair is very silky now. Make sure you are brushing Bella daily or even sometimes twice daily! You do not want a matted up puppy lol. Finally, you posted this in the fashion section so you may not get as many replies...but I will ask our mod to move it to the grooming section if thats okay with you! Post pics of Bella if you can...we love to show our babies off around here
