| Ok, all you designing geniuses, help me out here. I would love to figure out how I could make my furbaby girls a pillowcase dress like the ones that are so popular and cute on skin baby girls. It basically it just shaped like a pillowcase with the armholes cut out with elastic and ribbon ties at the shoulders. The problem with making it for the dogs is the underbelly of course. The underside would have to be much shorter and form fitting. I thought about putting elastic in the underbelly casing at the girth and running it across the back under the top of the dress w/o attaching it so the top would be loose & full. Does that make sense? Any thoughts????

| There is a lady in Houston that does that style of dress. Here is her web site: Furrever Doggies, custom dog apparel and accesories, Houston TX! Just click on "dress collection" She has several photos of her dresses, I think it will give you a good starting point. |

| Instead of making a pillowcase (ie 2 equal rectangles of fabric), cut the underbelly one in half. Assemble the dress the same way, running a hem stitch down the sides of the top, so that the top of the longer part wont unravel. Does that make sense? I wouldn't put elastic in the underside- and I don't use elastic in my pillowcase dresses for little girls. I just use a ribbon in the casing at the top.

| my idea would be to do like Michele said but make a casting for the hem of the shorter bottom and put a very thin elastic in there

Those are very similar to what I had in mind. I wish she showed a picture of the underside. Her dresses look like they may be the same on both sides. I believe it would have to be shorter and tighter fitting underneath or the pups would step or pee on it.

| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | You know, I was sitting in the dr office this morning and I think I have a pattern that has a dress sort of like this on it. I'm going into mj craft room in a min. I'll dig it out.

| Katie Scarlett's Mommy Donating Member | It's Simplicity 2904. Might have to do a little tweaking but I think it might work. It is scooped out on the underside to allow for potty area. Simplicity 2904 - I'm not sure if this is a out of print pattern or not but I do have tracing paper. I'd be more than happy to trace the pattern for you if you'd like.
