| My first try at a dress I spent yesterday day at the home of one of my friends from my meetup group, she helped me make a dress. I did the cutting and the some of the sewing, the nice part was her machine ran well so that made it easier for me, and some of my old home economics classes came back to me. I thought it would be fun to make something for Christmas so we went with a red and gold shinny fabric. I also wanted a puffy bow, so I stuffed it with tissue paper, I thought the little gold ball buttons looked like ornaments. So what do you think?

| Could not resist, but LOL I am just kidding that is a dress that I got from Bella's Prissy Puppie on FB. But I did rework it a little I took the bow apart and made it smaller then stuffed it, I also gathered the gold underskirt up and trimmed the tulle sorter. Then I took off the embellishments she had and added the gold ball buttons. But I did make a dress and here it is, I was pretty pleased with my first attempt. Lola is kind of small but puppy and I think she does better with shorter fuller skirts so next time I will do that. I was also pleased the when I laid out the pattern I figured out how to center the focal point of the print. I am starting to like side bows and flowers more and more so I gave it a try here. My girlfriend made this pattern for me to take home, so I plan to try my hand at it again. The machine I ordered on Friday already arrived today! I put the last one up to show you Lola's tail, can you believe how long it is, and I just cut about 4" off it about 6 weeks ago

| dangerous is right, I already took a good size slice out of the top of my finger just setting the table up. Note to self, no running with the scissors. LOL you read my second post, right????? ha ha I just reread my second post, meant to say Lola is small but puffy

| Upcycling counts too! Warning: Rotary cutters are extemely sharp! Sewing can be hazardous to your health!

| WoWow...maybe I should send you the dresses I ordered from her back in April and have you fix them. Theyve been collecting dust for ages. They need some serious work! I tried to fix them myself...posted a thread about it and I needed to sew some velcro onto them so they'd actually ya know...FIT , but I gave up after the first dress. Sorry for the rant. You did great and I really like your alterations! Lola is soooo beautiful

| thanks everyone, I love fabric and putting stuff together. Quote:
Here are a couple of the harness dresses I am now addicted to, I have about 6 or 7 and 3 more on order, I pay about $15.00 and they are well made with tons of velcro, I feel very secure walking her in them, even if I have to suddenly lift her off the ground. We hardly ever use the step in harness because these are so dang cute. You can see they are not that long on her, most people make such a fuss over these but are so so about the big fancy dresses. Even if I learn to sew better at the price I pay I will still have these made.
