That's the pattern I want to learn to make. I've read and read it, somewhere along the line I keep getting lost, hehe. Maybe it will go better when I actually have time for hands one...if ever

I was the same way. I read that darn pattern for what seemed to be a week. Every night before I went to bed I would go over it, hoping I would know exactly what to do when it came time to actually make the dress. No lie, I did get confused for about 2 mins when it came to the top but I figured it out. I do believe that when you actually get down to making it, it will all make sense. I hope you get to give it a try soon. =)

Add & subtract- heck redo the whole pattern!- but remember it's called a pattern(suggestion) so make it your own one of a kind creation made especially for your beautiful Darla!

Soooo true. I keep looking at it thinking on how I can change it to my liking, but I'm also starting to look at it with pride. I mean, it was my very first dress. The only other things I've made before were the curtains and valances in my house. So I'm finally happy with it. Thanks for the positive reinforcement. I need that sometimes. hehe =)

You should look at your creation with pride, everyone who creates something has put themselves into that project and no one else can exactly replicate it. I watch and really enjoy seeing someone doing what you, southern belle and others are doing and I love the excitement in the messages- "Look at what I made!!" "I did it!!" My oldest daughter is showing an interest in sewing and she has the same excitement. We all need an "attagirl" sometimes. I can't wait to see ya'lls next items!

Hehe In all honesty the color is what convinced me to buy this fabric. Its just such a beautiful blue. I was able to picture a dress when I saw it at the store. I'm really happy that I went with it. I look forward to seeing your creation. =) Maybe soon??? hehe
