Hi Kathy I am back from vacation. Did you have a chance to try out anything. The more I think about it velcro on both the back of the neck and the back would be best

Hope you had a nice time... welcome back! Started to do some things on this, then I realized I don't know what size your doggie is. (Sorry, I am still 'new' at making things for other people's doggies.) Neck, girth and length should do it!
