				   | Hi, I ordered this for Bella: Dog Clothes Pink Camo Harness Vest w/Lead size XS | eBay (from a different seller) in an XXS She hates her harness and in my opinion she's way too small to be going for walks outside already anyway, so I figured since she doesn't seem to mind T-shirts, I'd get her this just so she can get used to the feel of a leash and harness without actually wearing her harness. I can see how they wouldn't be safe for outdoor walking use, but I don't see any reason not to use it in the livingroom to help her get adjusted to harness wearing, yes? Plus...it's cute! There are pants that go with it but I'm ordering those separately. |

				   | I have a number of these and they are perfectly safe for walking as long as they haven't been washed so much that the velcro doesn't hold well enough. That is something you can easily check for yourself though. I like them.

				   | That one is cute. I like it. I've been making these for my Ruby, and I take her walking in them all the time. She also wears it in her carseat. I use a really good strong Velcro and she really doesn't pull much. I could see it being a problem if your pup pulled on the leash. |

				   | Hi all, I forgot about this thread ![]() Thank you for all the input! I hope she likes it when it gets here. I have a similar one (no pink) for Brussels already...and he doesn't seem to mind it. It's 5am here now, which means she'll be bright-eyed and bushy tailed in an hour...and I still haven't slept. lol Woot...time for Maxwell House. |

				   | Seems like it'd be perfectly secure. I just wanted to add that I think it's important to start a puppy young outside/etc, if you don't - they may never learn to have positive experiences with it. Basically I don't think shielding them from stuff helps anything (I noticed how you said she's too small to go on walks, and I think in another thread, you also said you did not want her going outside). I always let Jackson go and explore, encouraged him to investigate new things, build confidence, etc. He's a bigger Yorkie but I know of a 4lb and 5lb yorkie who are treated the same way. If you keep her inside all the time, she will learn that the outdoors is a big scary place and it really shouldn't be. They may be small, but they are terriers, first and foremost! Give 'em some warm clothing and they should be ready to go. Check out alaskayorkie's Jillie -- prime example of an awesome little dog who roughs and toughs Alaska, and was taught to enjoy it or at least tolerate it. Just thought I'd throw my opinion out there even if it's unwanted, lol

I'll see what I can do to get over that 'new puppy mama' fear of letting her outside. She's up to date on all of her vaccinations (she gets another one this week). We did let her outside at my parent's house when we were there for Christmas, and she had a lot of fun every day. But...their grass is composed of those square grass sod thingy-ma-whatsies, and they don't have any big trees dropping strange things on the ground like we do. Yes, I'm making excuses. LOL...okay..okay..I'll cut her some slack and start taking her out there, it just makes me nervous, it's so brrrrr cold. I was the same way with Brussels until he was about 6 months, and now he goes outside all the time with no worry from me (because he's bigger, older and wiser, and knows what he can, and cannot eat out there). Bella on the other hand..just scarfs down whatever she finds. 0_0 | |
