				   | Which do you prefer on your bows...barrettes or bands? ..and why? I've been ordering some stuff for Paisley, including some bows. I haven't received any of my orders yet and since I've only had Paisley for less than 2 weeks I haven't used any bows in her hair yet. So far I've ordered bows with the bands but it seems it would be so easy to just be able to "clip" a bow on rather than band one on??? I've read that the bands are safer for pups /young dogs so I ordered the bands. Last edited by Paisley-n-Me; 09-10-2011 at 04:58 AM. |

				   | I prefer alligator clips, simply for the reason that I suck at putting the bands in

				   | I have used both, but have started to convert all my bows to the alligator clips because the bows seem to last longer that way. Bijou is 2 years old and she kills them if you put the band ones in. It's discouraging to pay $5 for a bow and she'll destroy it in a matter of a day. So normally my girls only wear bows when I'm off work so I can watch them or when we go out or doing a fashion shoot. You've got to share some pictures of your little baby

				   | Thank you both for your input! Did you use the barretts as a young puppy too? I know I need to get some pictures taken of Paisley. That's on my to-do list I have to work again today so probably won't do pics today either..... the good thing is that me and my Mom own the store so Paisley goes to work with me! | That is awesome that you get to take your baby to work with you. My 2 stay at home and keep each other company while I am at work. I used bands on mine for about the first 8 mos and then I slowly switched to using the alligator clips. I have a mixed assortment now that I use but the clips are easier to put in but can be easier to get out as well. At least mine can get them out easier then the band ones. LOL Good Luck and cant wait to see pics of your little one!

				   | Thank you everyone! I just ordered some more bows and I ordered them sewn onto the alligator clips and I ordered extra of the clips so I can use them with the other bows I ordered before. I've kind of went bow-crazy! LOL I've ordered bows from 3 different places already. I've ordered some size 3/8" for Paisley to wear now and I also ordereda few in the 5/8" size for when she is bigger. I expect she's going to weigh 5 to 7 pounds as an adult. her sire was almost 5 pounds and her dam is just a little under 7 pounds. So i think the 5/8" bows will fit her??? |

				   | I bought a little pack of bows on sale at Petsmart just to test them on Nilla, and they start falling crooked in her hair, she tries to tear them out, etc. ... She even has destroyed a bow on her collar while I was at work one day -- I was mortified! Do they grow out of this? Lol. I think the bows are alligator clip, but I'm not sure. Would have to see example pics.

				   | I have gone back and forth on what I prefer between bands and clips. I've finally decided I really don't have a preference. Mylee will tolerate a band longer than a clip though. What I really like are the scrunchies. They are easy to put in and they don't break the hair. So I use the little scrunchies for regular maintenance and around home a lot.
