When you put the topknot up do it in two sections. I pull the hair up and take my rattail comb and part the topknot (side to side) take the back portion and put it in a band then take the front portion and band both sections together...no more waterfall. Tena it looks like Zhoie has enough for a braid. When I braid Jada's it always falls to the back without using two bands. She is asleep right now and I just snapped this...Attachment 351049

Hmmm, I'm not sure...Zhoie's is now as long as her other head hair and it's just a long palm tree now ;)

I'm struggling with how to trim her head hair, topknot especially :(

:eek::eek: how long is Jada's topknot? It's beautiful...I wish one of my girls had hair that long to braid.

Oh Michelle, I'm going to try that...thanks. You put a band in before you braid, right? Is the loose, like only a couple wrapped arounds:confused: I always put her band in with 3 times.

When we are just hanging around the house I use the terry scrunchies and I do put it in first (wrapped 3 times) then do the braid and I use the little scunci bands that don't damage the hair for the end of the braid.

Aww thanks Cindy. I wish I had never trimmed her topknot it would probably be almost to the floor. I have trimmed about 3" off of it at least 3 or 4 times in the last two years. Right now when I comb it out, it is past her shoulder blades.

I use a band and a clip. I think it would be too hard to do the double band thing with whatever clip. lol Some clips are easier to slide out though and get crooked easily. :)

Love the braid! But between my two girls and a son who has a long tail in the back i'm all braided out. lol I braid his hair everyday...my girls usually go in ponytails. :)

I use a band & slip a barrette underneath it. She wont accept the bow if it's on the band or too heavy. And sometimes she wont accept it no matter what "rules" I follow.:rolleyes::p
