| Dock today or Monday??? Today Ponytail Polly's babies are 1 week old..YES!! We made it!! I now have the worry of when to have their tails and dewclaws done! I have waited because I feared they would be too stressed to deal with it on day 3,4,5. I couldnt bear to lose one after such a difficult but great first week. I called the vet yesterday and they want to see them today, for an evaluation and possibly remove the tails however I would like to wait until Monday as I have to do some things today that will take me out of the house...I dont want to leave them the first 24 hours after the procedure. My question is; Will it make a huge difference if I wait until Monday?? I dont think the tails will be that much bigger...but the babies are getting stronger each day...I know the older they are the more they will realize the pain but I want them to be as strong as possible! I am asking for experienced advice here...please reply with your thoughts! The vets do the procedures but dont have the hours of time and dedication we pour into our babies..in other words "they dont always know what the heck they are talking about"!!! The babies are so fat, poop is nice and firm, they are eating every 3-4 hours and weight 5.5-6.5 ounces. NO CRYING!!! I really dread the whimpering afterwards!!! Awaiting your thoughts Dana |

| Well.... Personally, I would not wait. It is best if the procedure is done within the first 7 days. Teri

| Dana the longer you wait the more difficult and painful it is on the babies...I suggest if they are strong to do it today. They should be fine!
