| Our 1st night & day together Well last night was different! I didn’t go to bed until 12:30 am and kept waking up and slept on the couch and there I had a night light on all night for all my babies, Teddy was still outside in the garage…He spent the night there, so I got up this morning, and peeked in @ the family and they was all great all breathing, no lost ones dues to mommy laying on them…Thought that might happen but thank goodness it hasn’t! Gave Tiffy a bath, boy she needed it, cleaned her whelping box, weighted the babies, which our 2 girls are not gaining like the boys (Both gained 0.4 ozs)…#3 was 4.4 oz @ birth, well # 10:26 am she weighed: 4.4 no loss, no gain…That worried me. Then #4 was 5 ozs @ birth and she weighed: 4.8 lost 0.2 oz…That really worried me so I called our vet, (Justin had got puppy formula and bottles just incase cause #3 I didn’t think was latching on good…Still isn’t) so they said to bottle and breast feed them both, but just not to much bottle, just enough to help them gain weight, so I have been putting them on her more and help them nurse with her. But our tiny one isn’t sucking right @ all she just can’t grab it right. Well this evening I weighed the girls @ 8:37 pm and man it helped!! # 3.our tiny one weighed: 9.4 oz, gaining and #4 girl was 10.0 ozs. Tickled me pink!! I’ve moved them all into our middle bedroom where they can be alone and the room is warmer, the whelping box is stayin’ @ 81.7 to 82 degrees…Think that is warm enough? They feel warm, no crying whatsoever. She is a very very good mommy!!!! I feed them right in front of her and she still feeds them too, she knows I’m helping!! She leaves the room and goes outside now, she comes into the living room…She is really doing great and seems as tho they are too, Teddy is back inside and she doesn’t mind @ all although he hasn’t been in the babies room yet! I take them Monday to the vet to get their dewclaws and their tails cropped. Oh do any of U give the Tums for calcium? When do I start giving it to her? She is eating and drinking normal now, she wouldn’t eat last night except out of my hand. Do I need to get up during the night every 4 hours (This is how often I’ve been feeding the little babies) and feed the babies? Or do I let her do it @ night and me during the day? Their next feeding is @ 1 am this is why I’m still up! LOL! How often should I be feeding? The formula says every 4 hours is this right? Oh when can babies get their 1st tub bath? Anything else any of U think I might need to know please tell me!! I’m new @ this!!! Well gotta run and warm their bottle up! Thanks in advance for U’re help!! Hugs, Lee~ Tiffy and Teddy’s Mommy and now New Grandmother to 4 beautiful babies!! |

| It's Tiring but worth it! Thanks U all for U're thoughts, I love ya for it. I really love these babies and love my mommy and daddy. I never thought I'd get this tired tho but let me tell U it is a lot of work...Those who are not into like me better not have puppies...They are not toys U just leave lay...They are to be cared and loved every single day... Right now I have one who is crying and it's killing me...I think it's because it's tail is hurting where they cut it this morning...But I don't know how to help it...See U wouldn't think a baby puppie crying this way would bother me...But let me tell U it does! Well gotta go try to do something with it. Hugs and many thanks, Lee |
