| Yorkie Size First of all I would like to say that I am glad that I found yorkie talk. It has answered alot of questions for me. This is my first yorkie, so I have had alot of questions! My yorkie's name is Millie. She is wonderful! She is so smart and funny. So far her weight gain had been pretty steady...... she weighed 3.6 pounds at 12 weeks, 2.6 at 9 weeks, and 1.7 at 6 weeks......now it like she grew overnight! She goes back to the vet on friday for her 15 week checkup. Is it normal for them to go through a growth spurt that is so obvious when you look at her? I have a six year old toy poodle who seemed to grow at a steady pace, but this is my first yorkie and I know they are different. Also is the double the weight at 12 weeks a good way to estimate their adult weight? Thank you so much in advance for your input!!! i really enjoy reading all the information on yorkie talk. I have learned much more on here than when I tried to obtain information from my vet! |

| One of the Yorkshire Terrier growth charts can be found at the following link: Yorkie Weight Chart - Priceless Yorkie Puppy They say you can double the weight at 12 weeks, or use the growth chart (remember you have to convert the weight in pounds to ounces by multiplying by 16). Either method results in an adult weight of about 7 pounds, plus or minus, for your puppy. |

YT 2000 Club Member | Sounds like you have a very good eater! Every puppy grows at its own rate and it could be she is just having a big growth spurt and will slow down at some point. She sounds like a sweety!
