| Messy Butt We have a 9 week old yorkie named Cozmo. He was neutered yesterday so we can't give him baths just yet, but he stools are still really runny and he is very messy on the butt. We have been using wipes after he finishes his business and would love to wash his butt, but we can't for 5 days what can we do to help him from getting nasty. |

| I guess that at 9 weeks he might not be eating dry food yet? I have always figured that wet food = wet poops. I have no proof, but my Huey has always been on dry food and has never had runny poo. Maybe try dry kibble?

Poor baby, maybe you can use some waterless shampoo. They sell it at places like Petsmart and Pet Co.

YT 2000 Club Member | I don't know much about neutering a puppy at that age. Has he always had loose stools? Maybe some chicken and rice would help.....try talking to your vet about the loose stools. It could have something causing it....Parvo comes to mind! He is so young and should not have loose stools!

| Could the anesthesia from the neuter have brought on the loose stools or was this going on before he was neutered? |

| We got him from a rescue, who had rescued momma. I don't know if he had lose stools while there but he was still drinking from momma and eating hard food. She requires all animals to be neutered before leaving the rescue and have vaccinations started. We have to take him back at 12 and 16 weeks to get more shots. |

| update okay I talked to my rescue lady and she said the runny stools, and spitting up are all normal reactions to the neuter and shots. We actually go back to and get them at 10 weeks then again at 12. I guess we will just watch how he acts the next few days. Thank you all for your help. This is our first yorky. We lost his sister at 4 weeks due to fluid getting into her lungs so I have been very over protective with him |
