Thanks... People are just terrible sometimes. I have already taken time off work to be with her, spent tons of money in preparation, vet appointment is made...ugh. This lady knew what she was doing I'm sure. Oh we'll you are right, maybe this is a blessing in disguise

You'll be glad you didn't take that puppy. Don't be hasty with the new breeder either. All puppies are adorable but not all are healthy or sound representations of the breed. Another suggestion since finances were mentioned -- please consider pet insurance for your new puppy or plan to save ALOT of money for the routine care they need. They are not a cheap breed! Best wishes.

Thanks! That is part of why I am sticking to my puppy budget. I am pretty good about not overspending or living beyond our means. It does no good to have a great puppy if I can't keep her healthy! We do have emergency plans for kids, cars, and the puppy!

This is your FIRST RED FLAG !!! A reputable, ETHICAL breeder has only ONE concern....the well being of her puppies! All ethical, reputable, TRUSTWORTHY, HONEST breeders know it is best for the emotional and social development of the puppy to remain with momma until they are at least 12 weeks old! You are getting a puppy that is not emotionally prepared to leave her momma and siblings, as well as a baby that has not been started on her vaccinations...if she has, it is too early! This breeder wants to dump these babies before she invests any money in them....all about profit margin!

Reading your subsequent post, I see you didnt get the first baby...what a blessing! Those people were going to act all stupified and so upset when they realized they had gone off without the papers.....which, oh by the way, WAS deliberate!!! You would probably never have seen them again!! Good luck on your next attempt! If this one falls through, I always tell people looking for a Yorkie to buy the breeder first....ALL Yorkie puppies are adorable....you have to not look at babies, but at the breeder....when you find a breeder that is more concerned about the puppy than the sell, you are getting close! You find your reputable breeder, one that is honest and stands by her babies, and you will find your puppy. A lot of buyers forget the price of that baby also includes the many, many years of expertise and knowledge of the breeder, who is accessable to you for any questions or concerns, for the life of that baby!(I did wonder what you were wanting to spend on your baby....you seemed aggrivated by breeders "charging too much for their babies and not willing to meet your price"....just wondering what you wanted to spend for your new baby....as a breeder, I will share with you....between prenatal vet checks, post natal vet check, well baby checks every 3-4 weeks, age appropriate special diets, worming, vaccinations, (NOT counting "sweat equity invested in momma and babies, as well as care for the sire pre breeding and post breeding) my babies EASILY cost me $1200.00+ PER PUPPY by the time they are ready to go to new homes. I couldnt help but wonder what you were thinking was a fair price for your new baby?

I found my puppy! I'll make a new thread with pics. The question about price....I paid $1000 for this puppy. She is 10 weeks old. She was the only baby in the litter. I loved the breeder....we will be setting up play dates for mommy and baby going forward. She had her first vaccinations at 8 weeks. We visited for about 2 hours and watched them play...they were so cute. This is the second and last litter for mommy. Mom was about 5 lbs, dad was 4...she is tiny. The moms coat is black/tan. she is 5 years old, but her coat never turned to blue. The breeder paid $3000 for mom. Not sure how much dad was. There have never been any health issues with mom/dad/or the first litter. I believe she is well worth the horrible experiences I've had trying to find her! I have looked at puppies for twice as much that weren't even close to how great this one is! So happy

By now you will have little Gracie at home..How is she? has she eaten ok so far? All I can say is I agree with all the advice you have been given. I got my little girl at 8wks & was given all the same advice as you. Where I live you can sell puppies from 6wks :
The advice I would give you is read up on hypoglycemia. And have ready glucose/honey or what ever your vets gives you + some small syringes.. Mine became hyperglycemic from the next day. She would look very tired listless & no appetite. I would syringe glucose/honey into her mouth.. pop her into my shirt for 10 to 15mins and then I would see her wakening up and she would eat. The best advice I was given was from a local breeder who said keep her warm (heated blanket/inside your shirt) & feed every two hrs. She said eating is NON-NEGOTIABLE if she wont eat by herself syringe her every two hrs. . Once I took on this approach she came right and matured right out of it. I could have saved a lot of vet bills if I had spoken to her first. I kept rushing down to the vet in a panic to have her blood sugar checked and they would give her glucose fluids into her neck under the skin. She was also hospitlised for a weekend. Poor little soul. But she is as healthy and spunky as ever now. I really don't want to frighten you but rather be prepared. The secret I found was warmth/food/love Good Luck Ax

She is doing great. Eating and drinking well, running through the house. She is the most curious thing ever! I also stuff her little kong with kibble and she enjoys that. She began the night in her crate. I got up and potties her and she crawled back into our bed to sleep another hour or two. So far she is perfect!

My last post to you was rather late..and I see you have a new little girl. That is wonderful. You are going to have such fun and love her so much. Please keep us posted with pics of her and how you are doing. You sound like such a very caring mommy no matter which puppy you had..but in the long run you will be so happy.
