Oh my goodness. I have tears in my eyes thinking about all that you have been through in the past 2 weeks. Thank you so much for sharing your story and the pictures of your beautiful puppies. I am thrilled to hear you are keeping one, as you have worked so hard and deserve to have the pleasure of watching this amazing life grow and give you continued joy and happiness. |
Oh my goodness, they are ADORABLE! I was just thrilled to see the pictures and to hear that everyone is doing well (even you, Sara). They are just so sweet, and healthy looking. Ok, have to admit that Hope (lil brown girl) is my favorite; love the color even though I know they will all get much lighter as they grow up. I wish you continued good luck with your little fur family. It is such a blessing that the mommy was able to nurse after all she went thru. Hang in there and continue to rest when you can to get yourself well now. |

I think the names that you picked out just fit them to a tee. Mommy is still nursing but I still have to help. She just doesn't have enough milk to feed them all the time so I am trying to get more day feedings in so she can nurse more at night when I have to leave for work. I have been feeding the boy more so the girls can catch up on mom's milk since he likes to hog it. Working out good since they are all gaining real good. Was surprised that we haven't doubled weight by now but vet said they are healthy and not to worry about it. I figure in a few weeks they should be ready for some real food and that will help....just hope mom can still produce till then. She has been doing great and let's me know when she needs a feeding off. Just blessed that we have had so many good days and everyone is healthy.....including me. Sleep was what I needed and I sure did get it. LOL |
Well you have done a fine job with Mama & Babies. I have 2 questions though, #1 Where are some pics of that sweet little MaMa dog ? & #2 are you offering a pup to the vet ? I do believe he put his whole heart & soul into saving MaMa. He may not want one but if it were me I would deff offer. Keep up the good work , those babies are beautiful.:) |
Oh Sara, I am so happy that you are keeping little Gracie. They are all so very precious and true little miracles, but I am partial to little Miss Gracie. I have worried about her the most with her being the tiniest. I am sure she will have the best home possible with you! |

Oh Sara, I just admire you for all you have done for this poor little mom and her offspring. You have memories to last a life time. Hugs Jackie |
Sending hugs to you and the pups today. As I sit here snuggling my 4 I think of you with your little furry cuddle-bugs with lots of warm thoughts.:D |
Sara, how are mom and the pups doing? |

Amazing, 3 weeks already? Can't wait for updated pics. |
Looking forward to seeing new pics of the gorgeous miracle babies today. |
You've done such a wonderful job with them!! They are all sooo adorable!! They are so lucky to have you watching over them. I have to say I too love little Hope, that bottle picture of her is just precious!! |
3 Weeks Old 4 Attachment(s) Today our little babies have turned 3 weeks old. In the last week, 2 have managed to open up their eyes. They did that on day 19. Today we still have 2 hold outs. Guess they are still not ready to see the world yet. They are all doing great. Have made some great gains in weight. Mom is still nursing and I only feed 2 feedings a day and that seems to be working. Mom can usually go about 12 hours before she has to have a break and re-stock the milk supply. I am now able to sleep in my own bed without having to worry if they are hungry. Yes, I do keep the baby monitor on. LOL Mom is doing wonderful. NO relapse in her infections. Still giving her antibiotics but that will be ending soon. Stitches came out and she got a check up and was given a great bill of health. Could not be more proud of her for coming so far in just a short time. So I am sure you are now ready for some pictures. Here are a few group ones and then I will do the individual ones along with their progress. |
Riely 4 Attachment(s) Riley now has opened his eyes. He did that on day 19. He can get up on all 4's and now moves around some. Don't know how he gets his 11.0 oz up but he does. My only boy is growing!!! |
Hope 4 Attachment(s) Hope still has her eyes closed. I "Hope" she opens them soon so I can see her. LOL Hope can get up on all 4's but only moves around a little. She now weighs 8.6 oz. No more problems with dehydration, she checked out just fine when we went back to the vet last week. |
Faith 4 Attachment(s) Faith is my other hold out that has not opened her eyes yet. She is getting closer to opening them....I do have "Faith" in her. LOL She loves to climb and can get on all 4's now. She can even hold her 8.8 oz up!! |
The babies are growing so fast. So pretty, you've done a great job. And I glad to hear you got some well needed rest. Can't wait to see the other babies eyes open. |
They're darling. It's nice to see their pictures. Mommy looks great. I'm so glad they're all doing so well. I'm sure your bed feels great, too.:D |
Oh Sara, so precious. I sit here eating lunch waiting for all the pictures to up-load. They are so cute and mom looks great too. I am so glad you found YT and did everything perfect. Thanks to the YT'ers prayers along with your devoted attention. Looks like a big sigh of relief is in order. What a story you can send with these little ones that are placed in new homes. It's so great when what could have been a disaster turns out so well. Hugs |
Baby Grace 4 Attachment(s) Gracie opened her eye's on day 19 also. She can also get up on all 4's now and does manage to move around some. She has the softest little cry that she does and still manages to be my smallest. She weighs 7.4 oz now. |
Was wondering about you. I am so glad everything is going great. You ought to give yourself a pat on the back. Your little babies are precious. |
Thanks for the compliments. I am pretty proud of this little bunch. Yes, my bed felt so good last night. How I have missed it. 5 weeks of sleeping on the floor was killing me. I have even gotten the bottle feedings set so when I work I can feed them when I leave and they will be fine till I get home. But as soon as I walk in the door, Bella is there to let me know she needs a break. LOL Just still hard to believe all that we went through and how far we have come. Almost done writing up our story since I had several people contact me about using it on their website. While we are ending up with a happy ending others are not so lucky. Maybe just hearing what we went through may protect another dog from having to go through it. One can only hope. Finally the day has come where I can breathe a sigh of relief. Looks like all the rough parts are behind us now. Still can not say thank you enough to all that has helped us and prayed for us. Wouldn't be here doing this post if it wasn't for you!!! |
How exciting! Oh they are beyond adorable, and I'd give anything to see them in person and hold 'em. Hope totally steals my heart, and Baby Grace is a pure angel. It looks like both have ears erect already (?). Bold Brave Riley, so strong and cute, and Faith so sweet too. Momma is amazing, sweet, and such a fighter, and gets big kudos for hanging in there. They all warm my heart! Sara, hope it's all smooth sailing ahead for your and the furkids. Thank you so much for the update, I know it must be hard with your hands full to take time to post pictures, but WE LOVE IT. Hugs to all! |
