One of the most useful things I have used with puppies is 1st lots of their own toys and exchange them out so they don't get bored with them and recently....I have started holding the puppy for about 15 minutes or so a couple times a day with a chewie that I hold and let them chew on while I am holding it. I do this so they are getting affection, chewing, and learning to sit in my hands while I control an activity. Sometimes I brush or comb, cut nails but I often hold them to get some of the good chewing going so that they are more content with their toys. I tie old socks to "very specific" places for them to tug on and have a routine time that they get to run through boxes with toys and balls. By providing routines, they seem to be chewing on more appropriate stuff. I hope this adds to your choice of things to work with your new little sweetheart. From the look of her, I think her ears will be both up soon. Have fun.

Welcome to Yt. I'm also a Newbie. My baby is Bentley and he is 12 weeks old. He looks just like your baby. I need to post a pic. I will get around to it one of these days. Mine has a thing for feet!! I have no idea why. He attacks them on everyone in the family. It's so funny. If we wear slipper on our feet we seem to be fine, but if we don't then watch out.

She's definitely a cutie and I love the name! My Nicco had one floopy ear at 12 weeks, but it popped up pretty quickly. If you want to coax it along, try taping it and make sure you keep the hair trimmed. Even a little hair can be heavy on those tiny ears. Keep posting pic's as she grows, which happens sooo fast! In just a few weeks her coat will start breaking and her looks will change completely. Enjoy that puppy time!

Thank you for the advice!! Lately I've been getting concerned about her biting habits. She is SUCH a rascal and bites a bit too hard sometimes. I don't want it to become a problem. It's cute now...but later on it probably won't be so cute

Haha! Coco loves my feet too! I let her chase me around the house a lot---probably a REALLY bad activity which will develop bad habits...but I'll blame that on my newbie status because I'm having fun

That has been so true! I can't believe how fast she's growing. Her ear has perked up now and it's funny how expressive she is with her ears. She already gained another pound. I'm probably feeding her too much because she's getting lazy! I've taught her fetch though so that's been put into her daily exercise routine. She's learning obedience lessons too such as "sit" or "chill"--she needs it because she gets a bit too wild sometimes. I can't believe how smart yorkies are! I'm so glad I went with that breed.

Well, puppies grow in spurts, too, so maybe her weight gain and lack of energy is just that. My Nicco never liked fetch. He wanted me to throw toys and he would retrieve them and bring them back to me, but then he would refuse to drop it so I could throw it again. Just wants to play tug of war. Glad you are so happy with Coco!
