| Baby Yorkie! I have a question! Hey there! I just got a brand new baby yorkie! She is 8 weeks old, her name is Olivia and she is just adorable! I just had a quick question for some of the other owners of newborns! She is my second, but her nails get her caught on everything! I don't remember having this problem with Ocho (my 2-year old). How do you go about clipping her nails? Should I take her to a groomer to get her nails clipped? Or do I wait it out until she is older. I'm nervous to try and do it myself, and I don't know if I should! Any help you could offer would be great! I know she gets frustrated when she gets caught on everything...not to mention, they are sharp! Thanks so much! Ciao, *Ariana*

| Try just cutting the tips off. Sometimes a toenail clipper will work. If you're afraid, take her to your vet. |

| True, toe nail clipper work, at 8 wks, they are so very tiny or just file the ends off. It's simple....be brave just snip the ends.

Luv my 7 Furkids Donating Member | If your inexperienced and dont have stop bleeding, I think you should either go to the vet or to petco or like and have them clip the nails. Probably the vet would be better since at that young age you havent gotten all shots yet. |

| I agree with taking your little one to the vet, but don't let your puppy down on the floor please. I don't take my pups to anyplace except the vet for shots until they are totally vacinated. That is just my opinion.

| Do it yourself! It's very easy. I did it on all the large breed puppies we had when they were really tiny to 8 or 12 weeks. I however would reccamend filing first if your sort of unsure of yourself? or invest in a good nail clipper I think I bought one at petco for 14 dollars it comes with this powder to stop bleeding incase you cut to much and it comes with a really helpful instructional pamphlet and it also has a file (Its like white and red I forget the brand). I would say read that and try it. I cut one too short one time and it was great to have the quick stop stuff. Anyways. Good Luck - =D |
