I know that the temp will go down when she is ready with in 12 hours but i dont know why her temp is low and keeps going lower this is not her first litter. Her temp has always when down but not over a period of 3 days. All she wants to do is sleep right now and she is not digging in her box. |

As a breeder, I have never had this happen. I am going to cross post this in the breeders forum for you so someone will see it. | |

| I have seen this happen a lot with other pregnant bitches on this forum. I think most of the time the low temperature is caused by low blood sugar caused by the female not eating well. Is your female eating well? What day of her pregnancy is she on? Also I have read that many times the thermometer will not be reading accurately. |

| My Zoes' temp ran about 99.8 for a few days before it dropped under 99 and it was that night - really the next am around 3 that she had her first baby. |

| I've had girls go up and down for days. If you were only taking the temp at night then took it this AM, she is most likely in early labor as most of the females I've had read down to the low 99's until when labor starts. It's goes into the 98's. If it drops lower than 98 I would get worried about shock and contact the vet. As for the sleeping all the time, with a normal labor, they will go through periods of heavy sleep and be restlessness when awake. Some of mine don't even nest until right when the puppy is coming out. I do hope everything is going OK since I didn't see this when it was first posted. |

My Tiny Treasures Donating Member | My girls normally run in the 99's a few days before they drop in the 98's. Once in the 98's I normally have pups within 12 hours. Although I have recenty had some weird temps going on with no big drop in the 98's. They can be different each litter. |

| From the time it drops, usually below 99, it's about 12 hours. It's not a hard and fast rule. Does she have a discharge or bad smell vaginally? |
