| Possibly my new puppy - Question about coloring Hi everyone! This is my first post (I just joined on Friday). And I have a few questions for all you experienced Yorkie lovers Here's a pic of a Morkie I'm interested in. She's about 4 hours from me - so if I'd like to buy her this weekend I'd need to give the breeder a deposit to hold her until then. I'm a little nervous about buying a dog site unseen. I'm just trusting my gut I guess. My question for you is: The top of her head has some light in it - it almost makes it look like her hair is thinning. I'm sure it just started to change colors and the rest of her will catch up. What do you think?? Is this a normal thing? (PS - since she's a Morkie I'm hoping she stays mostly black and tan). Thanks for any advice you can give!! |

| She's a doll, and I can see a lot of yorkie in her. If she's not what you really want when you get there just be honest. If the breeder is a good breeder she'll be more interested in getting her into a house where she'll really want to be needed.

| the lightening on the head is normal. thats usually the first place yorkies begin to change color. it usually goes to a ver light blond/ whitish to a gold eventually. unfortunately... just like a pure yorkie... its hard to say exactly what colors shell be when shes full grown.

Living My Yorkie Dream Donating Member | Oh my gosh...........she is adorable!!!! She does seem to have the yorkie coloring and yes, the change on her head from black to tan is normal. If she continues to change in yorkie colors, then her whole head will change eventually. You need also to keep in mind that since she also has maltese in her, it is possible for her whole coloring to change much lighter..............and even some yorkies that start out black as can be will change to a silvery gray. Ya just never know for sure. But, as I said, she really is just so cute, darn near irresistable! I'm sure if you decide to get her, you will love her no matter what her hair turns out to be. Good luck with your decision.
