| Please welcome Sir Alfie the Singleton Hey everyone! Cleo had her litter 4 days early and took us all by suprise yesterday. She also had a day whelp, as her waters broke at 13:00 yesterday. She had one wee baby boy that we have named Alfie. He weighed in at 6oz. All he does is suckle so he is gonna be one wee butterball!... Not to mention SPOILED!!! Shocked she only had one as she was HUGE! The breeder I took her to for studding was astonished as she was the size of her bitch who just had 5 puppies! The plan was that we were always going to keep one. I guess its more special since he IS the only one! My boyfriend has a special bond with him as he basically delivered him. I had it sorted that I would be off work from today, thinking that she wouldn't deliver that early. Seems like she was taking the mickey out of me. I left work early in a mad dash after he phoned panicking, and made it to his house to cut the cord and give him a good shake down as he still had fluid in his lungs. He was laughing because i've been preparing for 3 months for the birth and he had a crash course the night before. I had a feeling the labour was coming she spent the whole day nesting. I have a question though. Will he end up a wee stinker because he doesn't have littermates to learn from? I feel sorry for him all alone in there. Cleo obviously feels the same. I woke up today and she had taken a small soft elephant toy and put it in the pen with him? Rather cute. She is a great first time mumma and stays with him all the time. He had a bit of poop dried on him and I had to give it a wee wash and she was whining like noones buisness to get him back.Encouraging! I wish she had more puppies but i'm just relieved he is really healthy and thriving! Now time for the pics!!! I know thats why you're all here 1- Fit for bursting a week before the delivery 2- Baby Alfie 3- Having a rest after the birth 4- Settling in and getting a drink!

| 2 days old and thriving I feel really sorry for wee Alfie all alone when mum decides to go for a wander. He seems to be thriving. Had a scare today as Cleo was acting VERY peculiar. Hiding under the bed constantly whining. Carrying a bobo about like it was a baby and not going in to see Alfie even though he was crying. I put her in and helped the wee man onto a teat. They have been fine ever since which is good. She seems to not want to lick up his poop. I find him now and again with some on him. She stimulates him though and cleans up the urine. I hope your little girl gets on well.. Here are a few pics from today..

| Sounds like he is a roly poly and is really healthy. I bet he is a runner when he begins getting around and he will slim down.

She was a little terror at times haha, I loved every minute of it! Opposite of his mum when it comes to eating though, she is picky, he is a fatty! We will see how THAT goes!

| your Alfi is so cute, sounds like he is keeping in stride with my Andy, he put on the weight fast but is up and about now and seem's to be more in proportion to his body. Hopefully your Alfi will run it off also. Good luck with him. Are you keeping him?

She keeps dropping little comments that she would rather keep Cleo, but that will NEVER happen!!! Its mainly because of how well trained Cleo is. I done lots and lots and lots of research on everything doggy through my life. When I got Cleo well over a year ago I was very depressed and wasn't working or anything like that. I had LOTS of time to train her, got up every few hours to take her out back to toilet train and everything. She has turned out perfect and I couldn't ask for more. I am working now however and I know I won't be able to put the same effort into little Alfie, so I fear that after say 4 months my mother will be tired as he wont 'be' Cleo if you get what I mean. I always look on the negative I guess. I currently live with mum and when I move out Alfie will be staying with her. I read you aren't keeping Andy. Have you thought about keeping him but getting him neutered? If he goes I hope its to the best home. I find myself a lot more attached to Alfie because he is the only one! On a weird note.. Alfie was almost called Andy. I had to do a double take when I read you called your little guy Andy! I better get to bed its 2.15 am here!!!!!
