Yikes, I am not so smart!!!! I can't do it....waaaaaa waaaaa waaaaaaaa.....my furbabies just looked at me and walked away. I get the avatar created, but it's saving it that isn't working. I saved it as a .gif file, but then what????? Help, help, help. The only good thing that came of this day is the fact that I took my boy dog to a local grooming school for a very inexpensive grooming package ($15) and he looks fab!!!! It must be a mistake. I normally have to regroom both when they get home... :) |

Yes the program should save it as a gif, but you won't always see it moving if you look in one of your files. It depends how you have the actual folder viewing settings. For windows, if I set the settings to "filmstrip" I can see the avatar moving right on my computer page, otherwise it doesn't look like it's moving. You can try uploading it to the test forum to see if it works. Test Forum - YorkieTalk.com Forums - Yorkshire Terrier Community. |

Nancy, thank you for the great instructions! We now having a moving avatar! I'm going to have to experiment with different pictures now - this is kinda fun! :D Oh, I had a photoscape question for you. I only used it to create this avatar. Will this program be good to crop out extra background stuff so more of the picture is just the subject? Thanks again! |

When you are in the AniGif part of the program, there is an option where you can "stretch" "image full" "paper full" and they will give you a different effect on how your avatar will look. Just click on each one, and you will see how it changes the avatar. Do this with the pictures before you save the avatar. See picture for more information: |
Oh, wow, that's nice to know. That really makes a difference in how the avatar looks. Thank you!!! |

For those of you who can't download the program for whatever reason, this site has a free animated gif maker. Just upload the pictures you want to use, and tell them the size. For donating members it's 125 pixels, the largest side, and if square that would be 125 x125, for non-donating members, it's 75 pixels. You can't edit the pictures from the site, but it does group the pictures together in one file. Myspace Animated GIF Generator, Animated GIF Maker. Here's an example of what you can make at this site. The pictures were already cropped to a square. I just had to set the size, (125x125) an seconds between pictures (2). Click on it to see it move. |
Hi Nancy, is there a program I can use with a Mac? I tried downloading the program, but it only works with a windows operating system:confused: I have adobe photoshop, is there a way to make the flashing avatar with that? Thanks so much. JudeAnn |
