| Looking in MA - near impossible! Have just started a search for another baby for my mom. I have a 7yr old boy in my house and she has 3 old men at hers. The pup will be for my mom, she lost her little girl last year and is ready to start the search for another. Well I have been given the job of locating places to check out over the internet since my mom isn't very good at it and I have to ask - What is up with Massachusetts... They appear to be so readily available everywhere else but here. She does not want to have a pupply shipped as my mom could not take the stress of the puppy stressing in transport. She works at the Nevins MSPCA and sees first hand the stress that a dog can go through. Is there anywhere in the MA, NH area that is a loving, caring, honest breeder. She lucked out with her Misty.. she was a beautiful dog - silver and white about 9lbs. She does want it really no bigger than that because she wants to be able to lift her when she is older. The old men at home are 15lb yorkie - Pepper and 7 lb yorkie - Bugsy and a 7 lbs poodle who is in diapers and he was going to be put down at the MSPCA because of his health. They told her 3 months max well its been over a year and the dog is going nowhere... he is sick, but you would never know it. Its amazing what a little love can do. His name is Hobo. We found her Misty from the newspaper and she was the runt of the litter and paid $250 for her. The place was just awful but my mom could not leave that last puppy there so she bought her not knowing what to expect. She lived a very healthy 12 years and the last 2 years though no in pain did have a liver and heart problem. She was always comfortable, has a very lovable vet and her comfort was his first priority. When the time came she passed in her sleep without pain. Its over a year now and my mom is ready... Any advice on nearby places to check out would be greatly appreciated. |

| You might try http://ytca.org/. There are reputable breeders listed here by state. These YTCA members, can also refer you to other breeders in your area. Good luck in you search!

| Thanks everyone for your assistance... Mom has decided she wants another female since she has the 3 old men now and this will probably be her last dog as my mother is getting older. I am checking out the sites mentioned and I expect to be driving this weekend and loving all the pups I see. Watch I will come home with one too! They are so hard to resist. I want a really small one this time 7lbs is nice but now that the kids are older, a smaller one is safe from childs play. |
