2 Attachment(s) Mojo is ready for bed, but he wanted to send hugs to Paris & you!! :luvu: Attachment 125769Attachment 125770, Mojo |
oh no!! I am so sorry you have to put Paris up for adoption.. I would take her in a heartbeat but unfortunately we're living with my bf's parents right now. I don't think your asking price is too much.. you're girls are your girls.. they're pampered and spoiled and I know you only want the best for her.. and if someone can't deal with that.. then too bad! I don't know why you have to rehome Paris.. but have you thought about maybe having someone "babysit" her until things go back to normal? oh how I wish the deal on the house already went through:rolleyes: :( |
oh no! i'm so sorry kathryn and sorry paris!!! this has to be a very difficult time for you .. kikko and i send you lots of hugs and kisses. If i were still in CA I would totally take her in a heartbeat!!!! honestly i would want an older dog, the potty training is killing me right now.. haha  good luck in find her a home. and jenn .. love your pic of mojo!! |
Paris is gorgeous! I hope she finds a good home!:) |
I think Paris is absolutely gorgeous and I hope she finds an amazing home. If I hadn't just added my last fur baby to the household, I would have definitely been interested! |
Paris is goregeus!! Too bad I'm all the way in New York. Good luck. |
Kathryn~ you are right in asking what you're asking. People may find dogs in other states for a lot less, but in CA, it's pretty hard to find such a great quality dog, esp. a female, for much less. I paid almost what you're asking for Max, and he's a male AND isn't AKC (which doesn't matter a whit to me, b/c he's my companion, not a showdog)....and your thinking is spot on.....you want someone who will be able to afford to care for Paris (it's not just the initial cost of buying a dog, as we ALL have found out), and when you pay more for something, (I DON'T mean that rescue dogs or adoption dogs who cost less are any less valued, so don't bash me on that statement), you tend to appreciate it more. Or you're less likely to just pass it on. I know when I spent $2400 for a bird, I was a lot more willing to be patient with him and deal with his quirks than if I'd paid $300 for him. And if I'd had to sell him, I'd be asking probably $50,000 for him, after all the damage he did to walls, carpets, window sills, draperies, furniture, etc etc:rolleyes: You want someone who'll think twice before they decide that it wasn't what they signed up for. You don't need to aplogize for anything. I only wish I could buy her:D . I know you'll find a wonderful home for her. |
She Is An Absolute Beauty!!!!!! |
Kathryn, since you mentioned that you did not want her to end up with a backyard breeder and by reducing the price you felt that might happen, why not have her spayed so she'll stay someone's cherished pet as she's been? That may be a good option. Also, in so far as pricing goes just because someone CAN pay the price you're asking doesn't make them the perfect home. Quite a few people that may not or cannot pay $1400 for an almost two year old Yorkie doesn't mean that they will not care for her. I'm trying to argue price or anything just making some points. I had a Golden Retriever that we had long before we ever had Yorkies. After we got him, we found out my son has allergy triggered Asthma and we had no choice but to part with him. We paid a lot for him and had him sold where we could have gotten most of our $$ back BUT we found a BETTER home with someone that had just lost their old sheepdog. We ended up giving him to that family, and were better knowing that Yes, we lost money but in the long run we knew we could sleep well at night knowing he was cared for. I hope thing work out well for your girl. Best of luck. Elaine |
i am not sure why people are complaining that this price is too much for an unspayed girl with such good bloodlines at this age. as a breeder who is Btw, NOT LOOKING before you start, i know kathryn is taking a hit in the pocket book on this one. this dog is worth more than a twelve week old puppy would be. Also, not every breeder would "breed her to death". believe it or not, there are lots of good breeders that don't fall into the category of BYB. good luck with placing her and I am so sorry you can't keep her. she is beautiful! |

I knew someone would pick up that bone! I stipulated that just b/c someone paid that much didnt' mean that they were the perfect home, but would most likely be LESS likely to take her for granted. I'm sure there's a gazillion people out there that can't afford to pay that much for a dog (or another dog); I'm one of them. I'd LOVE to give her a forever home and I KNOW I'd give her a good home, but the fact is, that Kathryn wants to sell her and try to recoup at least some of the money she's put into her. That doesn't mean she loves Paris any less. And she's obviously trying to do the best thing for the dog, her family and the new owners. Kind of make the best out of a bad situation. Even though at this point, I can't afford to lay out that amount of cash, I don't see a thing wrong with what she's asking. Said with all due respect. |
Iam so sorry you have to rehome your beautiful little girl, i hope things work out for you and her, sending you a prayer:) |
