| Thanks everyone! I think you are right about getting a bigger Yorkie. I've actually been thinking about Silkies. I know they are bigger and sturdier, but I am so in love with Yorkies! Does anyone know anything about the temperament of Silkies? I've heard they tend to be hyper. Linda, Your Anio is sooooooo adorable! I do have my heart set on getting a female though! Steph |

| Silkies are wonderful dogs too!! They look similar to yorkies, but their standard calls for them to be a bit bigger and their hair not as long. I love the look of silkies also Good luck with whatever you decide! A bigger yorkie or a silky would be good since you have children.

I'm sure I would love him to pieces! I guess what makes me lean more towards getting a female are the issues with having a male dog, like marking, or being territorial. I have always had female dogs/animals growing up, that's all I know! | |

Here is Anio today. He's a little mush ball of fur. I weighed him this morning and he's already 4.5 lb at 8 weeks old.

| I also have a female, Christmas, who I'm guessing is going to be around 5-6 lb.

| She takes after her daddy Dinky. His tongue is always sticking out. I don't think I have a single picture of him without his tongue.

But then I saw Scampers and fell in love with him. He is the sweetest boy ever. He loves cuddling and just loves everyone. He has never done the humping, he is definately not territorial and he has only marked a few times when in a new surrounding and no he is not neutered. I am so glad I decided to give male dogs a chance. Later on we added Poptart, a male maltese. He is also a cuddle bug, will lay on your lap all day. He has never marked, only humped a dog a few times but it was over dominance issues and he is also not territorial. Maybe not all males dogs have such great personalities, maybe I got lucky but there are others who have males that are such sweeties too. I am not saying go get a male, just wanted you to know that not all males have boy issues like humping, marking or territorial problems. After you are raised a certain way it is hard to think diferrently but I am glad I took the chance because I found out how great male dogs can be!!

I don't know if it's because we have so many males that live together that makes a difference with our pups as they are going up. We just added Buddy who is almost 16 weeks old. He's only attempted to hump the females a couple of times since we brought him home and I think that was only because he was so new to our home. Even that has stopped already and now he's just a cuddle bug.
